“this review is going to the GM Ryan at the south Dirksen store, i ordered two large pizzas tonight and i finally called about them being 35 mins late from said delivery time. He was very patient and courteous and explained to me that they was having a little trouble with the Grubhub deliveries. He went above and beyond explaining the situation. when we called the first time about it being late we were told the pizza was already in the car . A full 20 mins after that call we got a call from the grubhub driver asking if we could send them a satellite picture of our house because they could not find it. our house is only 5 mins from the Dirksen store. the grubhub driver should not have waited a full half hour to call about not being able to find us. it is in no way Ryan or the employees at godfathers fault that this happened. i want to thank Godfathers for hiring such a professional as Ruan to lead their store. it is because of Ryan that my family and I will continue to call and order the most awesome pizza in Springfield. please make sure this review gets to the owner Mike and the other owner as i will be checkimg in with Ryan to make sure he got this review of his great patience and service. we can not wait to order from ur store again as the food is awesome and Ryan's service was again above and beyond. thanks for the awesome food that you serve and the people you choose to lead ur team. we will make sure to keep recommending Godfathers to our family and friends as the number 1 pizza place to order from in Springfield. thank you sincerely the sanges family.“

“Our family has been visiting Chuck E Cheese for decades starting when I was a kid back in the eighties. This is the third generation in our family to go to the same location as well. The pizza tastes great, it’s always fun to see the animatronics on stage, but when Chuck E comes out, that’s where it’s at. Also, what kid (and adult) doesn’t love playing all of the games. There are a ton of prizes to choose from and you can purchase them at a very reasonable price if you fall short in tickets. I love the couple of places to get your picture taken, there are three at the location we visit. I still have mine as a kid in a photo album, and I’m 50. It is a bit on the pricy side, but they do have coupons and deals available. We try to go a couple times every year. I highly recommend going and I am sure everyone will have a great time.“

You just walk up, grab whatever items you'd like out of the warmer cabinets & checkout at the truck stop cashier. We got some fountain drinks & sat inside Taco John's to eat. “My name is Mike Lawrence. I began coming to Joe’s when it was still located in a somewhat decrepit house located just one door west of the building it’s now in. The front porch on that old house was loose and would bounce or sag a bit when you walked across it and my joke to guests I took in there with me, was they should carefully walk around that bad spot when we left because we’d all be heavier from having eaten and would probably fall through.

My daughter lost her first baby tooth while eating Spaghetti at Joe’s. She’s now 43 so, yeah, we’ve been coming for decades; certainly since the days when Joe Porcasi ran it.

All the food was great and, through all those years, I NEVER heard anyone say anything bad about the food, the service, the price, nothing … until now.

I guess it’s to be expected, especially in the food industry. Over time people weary of doing the same job day after day, get tired of serving the same food to the same people. Pride in performance gives way to pet peeves and personal pity parties. Oh, I get it. I do.

The reviews I read now talking about bad service, bad food, no longer being able to dine in … none of that would EVER have been true back in the day. Back when we came and sat down, talked, laughed, took in the awesome smells, and delighted when the food came. Even standing up to get the door for someone exiting with boxes of pizzas and more to take home to loved ones. Man, those were the best of times.

When we first found Joes, we didn’t go to any other shop in town. Why, when you’d found the best, would you want to go anywhere else?

We had even talked, briefly, with the original owners about opening a franchise on the east side of Springfield. Wish we’d carried through with that instead of opening a restaurant. Ah, well.

I don’t know if it’s still there, but I donated a kitchen chef statue to Joe’s when Jeff bought the place. Used to be right up on the counter.

I live in St. Louis now but, from time to time, when I long for one of Joe’s pizzas, or meatball subs, or lasagnas … and it’s only a 200 mile round trip but, frankly, some of the reviews have kinda bummed me out about doing it.

However, when I checked my bank statement I seen the waitress tacked on an extra $4 tip for herself After we left her a $20 tip in cash on a $65.69 tab. I always write cash in the tip area of the receipt for this reason but she still did it! So watch your receipts, they have at least one dishonest waitress!!“

“I've given Dominos a lot of business over the years. I placed a 62.00 order 12 days ago. I clicked on the emergency free pizza. I went to claim it when I ordered tonight. Nope not there!!!. Called the store..absolutely no help!!! Then called again and it sent me overseas..Ridiculous!!!!. What happened to Dominos??? Terrible customer service.“

“By the atmosphere I didn't expect for the food to be much of anything, Very surprised by the food. Lots of flavor. You have to go up and order your food at the counter then a server brings it to you, then you clean up after yourself. Reminded me of a fast food restaurant for yuppy people. Not very much seating available. The foundry kitchen is the kitchen inside of the bar called a Anvil and Forged brewery. The outdoor patio was not open because it was raining.“
