“this review is going to the GM Ryan at the south Dirksen store, i ordered two large pizzas tonight and i finally called about them being 35 mins late from said delivery time. He was very patient and courteous and explained to me that they was having a little trouble with the Grubhub deliveries. He went above and beyond explaining the situation. when we called the first time about it being late we were told the pizza was already in the car . A full 20 mins after that call we got a call from the grubhub driver asking if we could send them a satellite picture of our house because they could not find it. our house is only 5 mins from the Dirksen store. the grubhub driver should not have waited a full half hour to call about not being able to find us. it is in no way Ryan or the employees at godfathers fault that this happened. i want to thank Godfathers for hiring such a professional as Ruan to lead their store. it is because of Ryan that my family and I will continue to call and order the most awesome pizza in Springfield. please make sure this review gets to the owner Mike and the other owner as i will be checkimg in with Ryan to make sure he got this review of his great patience and service. we can not wait to order from ur store again as the food is awesome and Ryan's service was again above and beyond. thanks for the awesome food that you serve and the people you choose to lead ur team. we will make sure to keep recommending Godfathers to our family and friends as the number 1 pizza place to order from in Springfield. thank you sincerely the sanges family.“

“After a long week I ended up accidentally arriving for my son's scheduled party an entire week early. I felt like a moron but, thankfully, Kaylee came to our rescue and sorted everything out (it ended up working out because I had picked the package that doesn't include a host). She was extremely patient and understanding about the entire ordeal and, man, that kindness really meant the world to me and my family (especially considering I thought I had just driven 30 minutes for no reason AND got my kids hopes up). But the amazingness of these chuck e cheese employees doesn't end there. There's also an incredible dude named Tony who quickly became both my sons' favorite person. Tony definitely went out of his way several times to make my son's birthday awesome. He even played the basketball game with my other son before we left (it was closing time). This man seemed to genuinely enjoy his job and making other folks happy. So to Kaylee and Tony (and everyone else there as well, you guys are amazing!) thank you so much for being such great people and making my son's birthday that much more special. “Some of the best pizza we've had in a long while. We came for late lunch, everything was still hot and fresh after 2p. Pizza was great, but dessert was phenomenal. Staff was very sweet, good music was playing even though we were the only ones in other than staff. It's a much better pizza hut, we will definitely be back.“

“My name is Mike Lawrence. I began coming to Joe’s when it was still located in a somewhat decrepit house located just one door west of the building it’s now in. The front porch on that old house was loose and would bounce or sag a bit when you walked across it and my joke to guests I took in there with me, was they should carefully walk around that bad spot when we left because we’d all be heavier from having eaten and would probably fall through.

My daughter lost her first baby tooth while eating Spaghetti at Joe’s. She’s now 43 so, yeah, we’ve been coming for decades; certainly since the days when Joe Porcasi ran it.

All the food was great and, through all those years, I NEVER heard anyone say anything bad about the food, the service, the price, nothing … until now.

I guess it’s to be expected, especially in the food industry. Over time people weary of doing the same job day after day, get tired of serving the same food to the same people. Pride in performance gives way to pet peeves and personal pity parties. Oh, I get it. I do.

The reviews I read now talking about bad service, bad food, no longer being able to dine in … none of that would EVER have been true back in the day. Back when we came and sat down, talked, laughed, took in the awesome smells, and delighted when the food came. Even standing up to get the door for someone exiting with boxes of pizzas and more to take home to loved ones. Man, those were the best of times.

When we first found Joes, we didn’t go to any other shop in town. Why, when you’d found the best, would you want to go anywhere else?

We had even talked, briefly, with the original owners about opening a franchise on the east side of Springfield. Wish we’d carried through with that instead of opening a restaurant. Ah, well.

I don’t know if it’s still there, but I donated a kitchen chef statue to Joe’s when Jeff bought the place. Used to be right up on the counter.

I live in St. Louis now but, from time to time, when I long for one of Joe’s pizzas, or meatball subs, or lasagnas … and it’s only a 200 mile round trip but, frankly, some of the reviews have kinda bummed me out about doing it.

However, when I checked my bank statement I seen the waitress tacked on an extra $4 tip for herself After we left her a $20 tip in cash on a $65.69 tab. I always write cash in the tip area of the receipt for this reason but she still did it! So watch your receipts, they have at least one dishonest waitress!!“

“Went to foundry kitchen for the first time and it was great. Order at the front and go and sit down. The music was loud, making conversations hard to hear. The music was one of the only mad things however. The food came out quite fast and it was very amazing. I got the foundry horseshoe, which is good. The one thing I will have to say is the amount of fries given. I barely got to my protein in the middle because of the fries. Everyone I was with also had a lot of fries. The fries were good but I personally think it was too much. Less fries would have slowed me to finish my whole meal. Overall a good experience and would recommend.“
