We visited on our way home to Galesburg, IL after attending a concert in Chester. WOW, the food was AMAZING! My sister said, "They have the very best brisket, pulled pork, bacon, and turkey I've ever had in my life. It literally melts in your mouth. It was 5 times better than my favorite barbecue place. And I have never had turkey that wasn't dry until today."
I am picky about my mac and cheese but yours was amazing. My smashed burger and tator tots were excellent.

We tried their breakfast this morning and let me tell you.... it was delicious! I had the Classic Farmer's Breakfast and my husband had the St. Louis Slinger! Huge freshly made portions and did I mention it was delicious! We both walked away full and we still have a 2nd meal from our leftovers! When I say they are cheap I mean for the portions you receive and the quality of food! If you haven't had their breakfast then you are missing out!
The service is fast and friendly. The food portions were very large. We ordered the 2 meat platter (ribs and Texas brisket with the sides of chili & Mac n cheese). The food tasted great and the meat was very tender. We will definitely make the 1 & 1/2 hour drive again.

Smoked 'N Smashed is a barbecue restaurant where the food is phenomenal, top tier, and amazing. The best barbecue since leaving Texas, the food is soooo good but not over seasoned, with generous portions and tasty, great proportions. The brisket, pulled pork, bacon, and turkey are the very best, literally melting in the mouth, and the turkey is never dry. The smashed burger and tator tots are excellent, and the burgers are a nice size and priced nicely, coming with a side. The Mac & Cheese is fire, a must to try, and the baked beans are really good, while the tots are pretty good. The food is cooked to perfection and incredibly better quality, with enough for two meals each for less than McDonald's. The owner is amazing, glad to fix any issues, and the staff, including the lady in the drive-thru and a server named Rachel, are extremely nice, sweet, and super helpful. Despite being short-staffed, the owner and staff are great, very welcoming, and happy to help. Highly recommended.
