“Don’t sleep on this coffee shop. ☕️ I stopped at The Daily Grind on Route 6 this morning, and I’m officially saying it: this place is a gem in a cornfield. Normally, I grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich from a national chain on the way to work. Same routine. Same “fine but forgettable” food. Today, I downloaded The Daily Grind app, shifted my route just a bit, and went for a pour-over of their Ethiopian beans (roasted in DePue) — and noticed they had a breakfast sandwich. Friends… I swear this sandwich is on homemade bread, with the meltiest cheese, a perfectly seasoned egg, and ham that actually tastes like ham. Not microwaved. Not “warmed from frozen.” Just done right. Here’s the kicker: coffee + sandwich + tip = about what I usually pay for a sub-par Americano and a chain breakfast sandwich. The Daily Grind is tucked into the strip mall off Route 6 and Dalzell Blacktop, almost directly across from St. Bede. Easy to miss if you’re not looking — but you should be looking. And let this sink in: Spring Valley now technically has FOUR coffee shops. Add this one to the DO NOT MISS list. Same owners as Spring Valley Bakery, and it shows. They do coffee and mornings right. Highly recommend. Go get yourself a cup.”

“One of the best if not THE best Mexican-Bar Restaurant in the entirety of Illinois. I am from Los Angeles and we have one of the best Mexican food restaurants and I am fully confident and convinced Di-ga Tacos can hold up to any of the high rated LA Mexican Restaurants. I absolutely love eating at Di-ga Tacos as they have a huge variety of food and options. My favorite are the Carne Asada Nachos. They are insanely delicious and I could probably eat them every day. They also have a large refreshing drinks menu. The great part about the restaurant is that they also have a bar and available karaoke every Saturday. For the hot summer day they have ice cream and other cold snacks inside to cool down. But one of the most awesome things is that they cater to any event!”

“For over 25 years, Angelo's Restaurant & Pizza has been one of my absolute go-to spots in Spring Valley. From the very beginning, Angelo and his family have treated us like family - even before I officially lived here. That kind of warmth and consistency matters, and it shows in everything they do. Their pizza is hands-down one of my favorites in town. And if you were ever a fan of Peru Pizza House (like I was), Angelo’s is probably the closest thing around... not the same, but that crust has a similar feel that really hits home. Pro tip: If you order from Angelo’s, you should try the Gyro Pizza (like a Greek sandwich). Gyro meat. Feta. Fresh tomatoes. Tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping. Absolute 🔥. One of my favorite menu items anywhere. And don’t sleep on: + Italian Beef Subs + Gyros + Chicken Parmesan All second to none. We’re lucky to have so many great food options in Spring Valley, and Angelo’s is definitely one you need to have on your list. They also deliver to Peru and surrounding communities, so there’s really no excuse not to try them. If you haven’t had Angelo’s yet… it’s time.”

“CLEARLY illinois Valley's BEST Subway. Ingredients and bread is always fresh and service is the friendliest! Store interior ALWAYS appears spotless.

Too many locations use borderline stale bread and produce that look day old. One owner with multiple locations actually waters down the soda dispenser. Ugh.

Spring Valley is the ONLY location and fast food establishment I gladly use the tip option.
Employees deserve a raise!”

“I ordered pepperoni & pineapple pizza at 7:50 pm 4-12-25 for carryout was told 30min & it not only was done right on time :) It was one of the best pizzas we've had omg from the thin thin crust to the ratio & placement of toppings it looked delicious & tasted even better :)

“Gross negligence by crew and management alike. Orders are almost always wrong or missing items. Today, I spent an HOUR in this location waiting for my order. Special instructions on the order, per dietary restrictions. My order was picked up by another customer, and the staff offered to remake mine for the mistake. Once remade, the special instructions were not followed, and they had IMMEDIATELY lost my receipt/could not recall it/print a new one to confirm my previously entered order. The manager then came to WRITE DOWN my order, in front of me and told me he would personally remake it again. And AGAIN, my order was incorrect, with the special instructions still not followed. During all of this, the staff was generally unhelpful. Rude, short and too busy talking amongst themselves to properly care about customers, orders, or how they present the McDonalds brand/experience. So I wasted an hour. Left with a poor attitude from the staff and management on duty, with only a refund in hand. I worked at McDonald's for an extended period in the past. I have certain expectations for how things should be handled, and absolutely none of them are ever met at this location.”

“Hands down one of the most delicious meals my husband and I have had. I had the Chicken Marsala, which our server recommended, and my husband had the meatloaf. Both dishes were incredible! Then we shared the Irish cream cheesecake for dessert, and it was to die for. Service and atmosphere were great, too. The next time we visit Peoria, we'll be back for another meal!”

“Stone jug catered my wedding this past weekend and the food was absolutely perfect! My guests raved about it the entire night. We ordered the brisket, mac & cheese, beans, and potato salad. The price was also very fair per person. Please, if you’re getting married in the area, check out their catering it’s 100% worth it !!”
