“My family moved from Illinois a life time ago. Was back for a moment recently. I know from the partys oscar threw together back in a time Before life got real and we were still pretzles. He was destined to have the best place around. Where ever he ended up. All that practice he put in paid off with a fantastic place to have a great time. “A dive bar that makes you feel right at home. Heather the bartender (and owner) is attentive, and also funny as "beep"! They sell snacks, but no food. They do have potlucks every once in a while though. They did a Happy "Noon" Year party on the 31st, I unfortunately didn't arrive until later that afternoon, but still had a blast. Several dartboards, and a shuffleboard table are in the back room of the establishment (out one door, into another. Great time overall. Forgot to mention about the two cats that roam freely around the bar“
“Looking for a dive bar with cheap drinks? This is it! Bloody Mary bar today added to the fun. It's a cute bar with great bartenders. We didn't eat so I can't speak for the food though. Next to the bar is another building/patio with a stage for bands to play. It's more of an open air area but in the winter they heat it and close it up. Now in Illinois this means they can still smoke there. If you don't mind the old Smokey bar feel it's great. You can always go in the main building where there's no smoking if you don't want to be around that. I think in the summer it would be a great hangout! We really enjoyed catching up with some friends and if in town would go again.“
“Shelby and Susan are awesome bartenders. If you want to come to a place where you feel like you belong this is the place to go!!!! Good prices and great cutstomer service. First time we have been here, came here for my father’s birthday, these ladies treated us like they had known us for years.We will definitely be coming back!!! The hour drive is sooooooo worth it!!!“
“I’ve been to Top Cats several times and have always had a great experience! The food is great and reasonably priced. A true gem, especially in this economy. Blake is also always so helpful. He really comes to the bar hoping to make it a home away from home for everyone who visits which is what you want your local bar and grill to be. We had a bachelorette party in the party space a couple months back and he was so amazing in ensuring it was a memorable time. I wouldn’t hesitate having another event there. My server tonight, Bethany, was just a delight as well. Despite the fact there was a wait, she remained calm, cool, and collected and we never lacked for anything desired even though she was juggling a 30 person party as well. Even though I live in STL (which means I’m exposed to great service and quality food often) I will always make it a point to stop in for either a drink or a satisfying meal.“
“It was a very relaxed/chill environment. My partners buddy was in the hospital so I went and chilled here for a few hours while they visited. the drinks were great, and the bartenders were great to have a conversation. It's definitely not an uppity type of place so if that's your vibe it might not be for you. I can't wait to go back though.“
“I went with my niece. This was the first time I had been there since Gary opened the new place. We had a great time. And Tammy was tending bar when we got there and I hadn't seen her in years. She knew exactly who we were!! I understand Jennifer works there as well and it's been years since I've seen her as well!! So shout out to Gary, Tammy and Jennifer!! I hope I get back soon because we had a great time!!!“
