Maid-Rite is a nostalgic burger joint that offers simple menu options and friendly service. The original location has a charming, old-school atmosphere, with a quick and friendly staff. Customers can enjoy a classic Maid-Rite sandwich, with its signature bun, mustard, and pickle combo, along with fries and a frosty mug of homemade root beer. The prices may seem a bit high, but the portion sizes are decent. The owner is known for being nice and will happily share the history of Maid-Rite, which started as a converted rail car and is recognized as the first drive-in restaurant. This place is a must-visit for families looking for good food, such as chili and curds, in unique and comfortable surroundings. Overall, Maid-Rite is a beloved institution in Springfield, perfect for a taste of authentic American dining.
