Mel-O-Cream Donuts is a great find in Springfield with quality donuts and friendly staff. The inviting space greets customers immediately upon entry, and orders are filled quickly. The donuts hit the spot, including the glazed old-fashioned with a crispy krunch, and the lighter white cream. The coconut cream filled donut is suggested, and the lemon, custard, creme, original, and long johns were tried. The creme and icing, both choclate and caramel, were fantastic. The donut sausage & egg & cheese with white American cheese was a good paring. Prices are quite reasonable for a specialty bakery, and there is a good selection late in the Morning. The older building has no drive through, but customers will return.
