Sportsman's Lounge, a Springfield Illinois landmark for 100 years, offers a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including the popular double smashed burger and tenderloin sandwich, although the latter was found to be bland by one reviewer. The tavern chili is a highlight, and the Chicken Livers have been reinstated on the menu to customers' delight. Despite being short-staffed, the waitress did a great job keeping up with orders. This hometown favorite will be missed when it closes to make way for housing projects.
