“We live at Apple Canyon Lake. We visit regularly especially during the summer when we bring our dog and eat on the patio. Food is always good from soup to burgers. After reading some old reviews I wonder why people who dont live here feel they are treated differently. If the bartender doesn't see you go up to the bar and tell him. Same with paying the bill. They don't employ a lot of people. Once they get to know you, however, they'll even remember your drinks, etc. Its good hometown eating.”

“This diner exudes authentic, small town Midwestern charm, with great food. If you're heading to Galena from Chicago, this gem of a breakfast/lunch place is worth your time to stop here. The picture and mural on the wall show a 1897 established date. The decor and everything from the flooring to the ceiling is from that turn of the century and is in great shape. Service is quick and friendly. Everything is made from scratch, is tasty and very reasonably priced. Thanks for a great lunch, Stella! We'll be back!”

“I got the bbq pork sandwich’s tater tots and there was no shortage of tots hehe. Had plenty of leftovers to take home and the waitress was nice! No complaints other than I was a little cold from the fan.”

“We stopped at the Red Knight in Stockton Il. by chance on the way to Rockford. It was so reasonable and good that we stopped on the way back home to Iowa. The menu is extensive and the price is very reasonable. We didn't try the Italian Beef but it looked fantastic as well. The place was very clean and the daytime staff was very friendly.
