Ahne's Bakery is the place for the best hometown donuts (chocolate long johns and glazed!), pastries (German chocolate is my FAV), coffee cakes, Danishes (try all the petites!), cookies, breads (and THE BEST ham/hot dog buns around), pies and custom cakes! Did I mention they are bringing back the Fried Chicken dinners on Sundays? Hallelujah!

Absolutely amazing! Hands down the best bakery in southern Illinois. I cannot think of a better place to find doughnuts or danishes. Only downside is that you must show up early if you want glazed doughnuts because they sell out pretty quickly, but it's definitely worth it.

My Dad surprised us with pastries on our trip home this week. Nothing is better than Ahne’s. Absolutely Delicious !!

I'm a local real estate agent and I love buying donuts from Ahne's for my clients and business partners. Small town feel, great products, nice/quick service!!

We always love what we get. This morning we arrived a little after 9:00 and they were almost sold out. Not good for business when you don’t make enough to last on a Sunday morning. We were disappointed in the selection.

Stopped in on a Sunday for a Gooey Butter Cake, and a couple of pastries. No traditional donuts when I visited, but everything was good

We had a delicious fried chicken dinner today at a very reasonable price.

Good morning Donut Lovers! I am so happy that I had the chance to stop in to Ahne's Bakery this morning! Someone told me they had Bear Claws so I had to visit! They have the most delicious Caramel Crunch Bear Claw that is so good you have to go try one! Their classic glazed yeast, iced cake, French crullers and raspberry jelly donuts are all super soft and buttery and totally worth the drive, as well! Don't tell anybody but I got a Danish today, too! So good! Check out Ahne's Bakery in Episode 36 of the STL Donut Tour at 6am Friday morning on YouTube!

Always delightful! If you're looking for something different, try the Old Fashioned Peanut Cake. And don't forget to pick up some end rolls.

I'm sorry to say that today I can not recommend Ahnes. Other days I surely could but today I was very disappointed. I went in as normal grabbed 6 donuts for my family took em home and they all taste like fish. I'm guessing they were made in the same oil that they were frying fish in?? again this isnt an everyday occurrence I wouldnt recommend Ahnes but this time and day their donuts were sorry to say nasty.

Visited on our vacation. Very nice place for a treat. The peanut butter pastry was great and the bread made a great sandwich after returning home. Go grab you a treat, you will be glad you did.
