Best craft beers around. They also allow you to bring in your own food. GREAT SEEVICE, CLEAN, FUN!

Very enjoyable experience. Nice staff and customers. Totally lucked out on the way home North bound from the Fort De Chartes Rendezvous. Car show around the old square.

First go to Mama's on Mill, grab a sandwich and eat it here with a wide variety of good beer. Once you are inside you forget to be in Illinois but in a German town.
It's always a good time at the Stubborn German. The staff is not only very welcoming, but genuinely enthusiastic about the beer and helps everyone to have a great experience while visiting. They also have an impressive bourbon selection. They take pride in the beer they brew and you can taste it. SGBC is a great stop on your Waterloo visit... you'll be back again and again.

The beers are really lovely. We had the Kölsch, the Oktoberfest and the Lager. All get big W’s for me. The interior and exterior really bring the German vibe and create a friendly and vibrant environment. We built our own 4-pack as we left and will be enjoying their brews at home.
Excellent beer- unreal whiskey selection- great staff- beautiful building and brewery. The owners are awesome too. Great spot- if you are in Waterloo and you don’t stop in - you are missing out! Cheers!!!
Had a cozy front patio area which allowed us to listen to the Waterloo Municipal Band summer concert. Drank Stubborn German beer (which was excellent) and ate Uncle John's RRR bar food. Couldn't ask for more in a bar that doesn't serve food.
Excellent bourbon selection, beers are delicious, service was outstanding.
Great service and friendly staff! Always have a new rotation of beers on tap and their whiskey selection is in point. Recommend to finish on a weekend in Waterloo.
