I came here with multiple family members and clearly need to get back to sample dessert. They have good kids’ meal options plus a little gift area. Very clean and extremely nice service. Wife originally wanted the mother signature hanjeongalk which include braised short rib, garlic buttered abalone and grilled short rib for $119 but I was like why don’t don’t we pay $20 more get the mother queen set include wagyu ribeye, marinated short rib and wagyu beef brisket LOL

It was during lunch other on a Saturday, kinda slow for a weekend but the server was attentive and welcoming

“This place is legit Korean style. It has its own spin to the dishes but all the bowls and burritos are the perfect balance is meat, vegetables and rice. We always get the burritos and bowls. We’ve also tried the chicken katsu and it’s got the best crunch and flavor. The mini steamed mandoo is also so good. Highly recommend this place!!“

Menu is large with plenty of options for everyone. We have tried multiple appetizers and sandwiches/wraps and enjoyed them all. My husband is a huge fan of the burger which you can tell is made with fresh quality meat. Plenty of seating options inside but we especially enjoy the patio. “Arrachera Mexican Grill has been exceptional since the moment I walked in. The service is amazing, friendly, fast, and they’ve treated me very well every time. I even got a free sample of their quesabirria, which came out quick and was delicious.

The consomé that comes with the quesabirria is rich and full of flavor. Not too strong or too light, just a perfect balance. A lot of places struggle to match their consomé to their quesabirria, but this spot really nails it.

The green salsa is creamy and pairs perfectly with their tacos, which are priced very fairly. Some places nearby charge close to $5 per taco, but here the prices feel perfect for the quality and flavor you get. The red salsa isn’t exactly my flavor palette, but that doesn’t take away from how good the food is overall.

I ordered the quesabirria, an arrachera taco, a chorizo taco, a torta cubana, and flan. Everything came out fresh, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The arrachera was tender and the flan was the perfect sweet finish.

As a Carpentersville native, I can honestly say this spot stands out above other established Mexican restaurants nearby. Better quality, better flavor, and better prices.

They’ve only been open about five months, but Arrachera Mexican Grill is already one of the best new spots in town. Highly recommend.“

Today - based on the owner's recommendation - we started with a cupl of their meat and veggie soup that did not make it on the official menu - sorry missed a photo of it - delish! 😍 Pork, chicken and beef in a savory broth chock full of veggies - carrots, celery, onion 🤤 followed that with the egg salad appetizer, one of our absolute favs 🤩 4 toasted rounds of bread with their excellent egg salad 👍 then we tried the new potato pancakes entree for the first time, which came topped with assorted grilled veggies, plus toast, eggs and hollandaise sauce.. we got the eggs scrambled, rye toast buttered, sauce on the side, and requested a side of sour cream. YUM 😋 ended up with the vanilla cake with vanilla frosting - sorry to miss a photo of that too. Awesome! “We sort of fell upon Joanie's when we went to the Strawberry Festival in Long Grove and it was the star attraction for all of us!!! My husband and I had the most delicious salad that we completely devoured in record time along with that mouthwatering cheesy pizza that we ordered along with it!!! My Mom and Aunt ordered the chicken and Mom commented...."Now that's the way chicken is supposed to be made!!!" They were served a large tray with 4 LARGE pieces of chicken, potatoes, and long buns!!! They took half of it home and had it for dinner tonight!!! But the piece de resistance was the hot homemade strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream that seriously 4 of us shared!!!! Wow!!! What a treat!!! Oh... and....Our meals were served Hot....not cold....HOT...out of the oven.....again, the way a meal should be served! HOT!!! ha ha ha...The ambience was fun and the view of the water from our vantage point was just breathtaking!!! Our server Derrick was such a nice young man! He was professional, made certain that we were ok, and went back and forth many times for those extra things that we needed for our meal!!! I'm certain that it was very hectic for all of the servers during the fest, but they handled the crowds so well!!! Again, we were just thrilled to have stumbled on Joanie's!!!
