Otherwise, everything else is top quality! “I wish I got some photos because of how lovely everything was! Best wonton soup in the area hands down, and always pleasant service! We used to come here often enough that the lovely waitress would recognize my boyfriend and ask if he wanted their (fabulous) Thai beer. Wonton soup is garnished with cilantro, green onions, and DELICIOUS fried garlic, had to order some to go! Fresh sushi that is rolled very well with beautiful presentation, delicious drunken noodles, perfect miso soup, and very fresh house salad with crisp red onions (I've never had such a nice house salad like this before, honestly!) Great portions and everything always the perfect temperature!“

“Dog n Suds in Grayslake is one of those places that truly deserves the support of the community.

Obviously everyone knows Dog n Suds for the classics—the root beer, hot dogs, burgers, fries and that old-school drive-in feel—but what really makes this place special to me is the people behind it.

Jason, the owner, is just an all-around great guy. He genuinely cares about his business, his customers, his employees, and most importantly, the community that supports him. As another local business owner, I know firsthand how difficult it is to run a restaurant, especially these days. It takes a tremendous amount of time, sacrifice, stress, and dedication that most people never see. Jason continues to show up, work hard, support the community, and do everything he can to keep a place like Dog n Suds going strong.

I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for business owners who don’t just operate IN a community, but actually become PART of that community, and Jason is absolutely one of those people. He supports other local businesses and organizations, gets involved, gives back, and genuinely wants to see Grayslake and the surrounding communities succeed.

And on top of all of that, Dog n Suds is just a fun place to go. There aren’t many places left that have the character and nostalgia that this place has. Grab some food, get a cold root beer, sit outside and enjoy it. It reminds you of what a locally owned restaurant is supposed to feel like.

If you haven’t been there in a while, go support them. Places like Dog n Suds don’t survive because of giant corporate marketing budgets—they survive because communities continue to show up and support good local people.

Jason, keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve built something special, and you should be proud of it.
