“I recently worked a wedding at Harbor Brewing for an outside caterer and was very impressed with the staff (great bartenders!), facilities, and ambiance. The happy couple and their guests all seemed to have had a wonderful evening and throughly enjoyed the selection of drinks offered by the venue. In talking with the attendees (and from clearing their empty glasses) it was clear they found the quality of that selection far exceeded the run of the mill menu available elsewhere. Moreover, the bartenders did an great job keeping the lines short, the beverages fresh, and although I unfortunately wasn’t able to banter with them myself every guest walked away from their interactions with a smile on their face. The area in which the event took place was both spacious and beautifully decorated/styled. The brewery’s aesthetic is tasteful and the layout allowed for plenty of room for the crowd to dance and mingle. Personally I thought the wall of whiskey barrels was a brilliant addition - wether it was simply meant as storage or a design element chosen specifically for the look it really brought the room together. This may seem like a weird feature to bring up but having worked tons of weddings at dozens of venues over the years I always take note of the restroom accommodations in an event space because as a party progresses underperforming in this arena can create a ton of problems. Here the bathrooms not only fit the theme (extra points for the keg urinals!) but were kept clean and easily accommodated the parties needs. Finally, the venue is located in Lake Villa’s downtown area somewhat near the train station with plenty of parking for guests available on site as well as near by on Cedar street. Finding the building was no trouble at all and leaving when the event was over was hassle free. Altogether Harbor Brewing is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a space to host an event; a beautiful venue with some wonderful staff pouring outstanding beer will make for a night you and your friends won’t soon forget.“

“Good selection of beers as well as some ciders and meads which gives everyone a chance to enjoy something. Food at the Round Lake Beach location is available at the Pizza place in the same plaza who will bring your food to you at the bar. Loved going on DJ Bingo nights, Jesse is the best!! “We stopped at this place for lunch recently. Very good food and fast service. Everything is reasonably priced compared to other hotdog places. Portions are very generous and fries are perfectly crispy. Cheese sauce on side was great and not watery, gyro was perfect and grilled chicken sandwich was very juicy. “There is a reason the line is always long here, the ice cream is amazing and it is affordable for the whole family. It may take you a few visits to perfect your order, but it is well worth it. I always go for the PB Sundae with chocolate ice cream.“

“Stopped in yesterday for a quick afternoon drink with the family for my dad‘s birthday and had a great time. Everybody was drinking beer, however, I decided to try their absinthe cocktail which was the first time I’ve seen this at a bar and it was done very well.Overall, the place is quaint, has a great cocktail list, and it was also nice to see a Mocktail menu if requested. During nice days, they have plenty of outdoor seating, which would make this a great place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night with friends.Will definitely be back.“

“We played a show at the theater next to this place. Had dinner here. WOW!!!! The service was very good and friendly. But the food!! I had a huge burger with bacon, egg, and hashbrowns. It was huge and incredible. Wife had a chicken wrap, she said was incredible as well. The incredible food combined with the small town friendly atmosphere makes this place well worth the stop. “I love Buddyz, always have, but last night we had a little birthday party for my mom in the back room and not only was the food the delicious as usual, and the room perfect for the occasion, they let us bring in a little entertainment (Elvis is in the building!) but it was the service tha was a knock out! Our servers were so attentive, so much fun, so friendly, they added that cherry on the cake that made the evening perfect! “Happened to be in Antioch with my daughter and stopped in The Lodge for a late lunch. I had one of the best, if not the best chicken wrap with fries. It was wrapped, then heated on the outside, delicious. My daughter had a grilled cheese with tomato with onion rings, she loved it. We were too full to eat desert, but we took a piece of homemade tiramiso with. It was a slice of heaven. Great service and wonderful food“

However, it could use a bit more lights to mark the entrance driveway.Once we entered, we were curious with how the food would be. Other reviews appear to wonder about this as well. The interior atmosphere is filled with antiques and charm. The video slot machines is what I believe give reason for pause. The very reasonable prices might even make folks wonder as well! :-)When the food arrived, we didn't have to wonder anymore. The ribs, the salad, and the hot dogs we ordered were all excellent!Now that we're over the hump of wondering, you'll want to come back more and more. The price AND TASTE will not scare you!“
