“😀Great food, however, the “build your own burger“was a disappointment. The onions tasted bitter and very salty. I got the worst case of heartburn from this burger! OMG. Otherwise, everything else is top quality! Be careful when ordering this “build your own burger.”🍔 I’ve never tasted onions so bad, and seem to be imbedded into the meat that tasted so bitter and awful salty. “I wish I got some photos because of how lovely everything was! Best wonton soup in the area hands down, and always pleasant service! We used to come here often enough that the lovely waitress would recognize my boyfriend and ask if he wanted their (fabulous) Thai beer. Wonton soup is garnished with cilantro, green onions, and DELICIOUS fried garlic, had to order some to go! Fresh sushi that is rolled very well with beautiful presentation, delicious drunken noodles, perfect miso soup, and very fresh house salad with crisp red onions (I've never had such a nice house salad like this before, honestly!) Great portions and everything always the perfect temperature!“

“Highly recommend! Wow. What an experience at The Vegas Cafe in Antioch, Illinois. The food and drinks were excellent. We had the stuffed French toast, a skillet, pancakes, strawberry waffles, and a breakfast wrap. For drinks, we ordered hot chocolate and iced tea and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is truly amazing. From the hostesses to our server to the bussers, everyone was hardworking, kind, and genuinely caring. You could feel it right when you walked in. They wanted you there and treated you so well. Then there is the owner, Helen. She is an absolute gem. She introduced herself and spent time talking with us about her family, the business, and getting to know us. Even before she mentioned she was the owner, you could tell by the way she carried herself and interacted with guests. She clearly cares about her staff and her customers. When Helen found out we were there celebrating my mother’s birthday, she went above and beyond. My mom is still talking about it. We are so thankful to our server Callie, the owner Helen, and everyone at The Vegas Cafe. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.“

It isn’t flashy, it isn’t loud, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is: a place that consistently serves excellent food at fair prices. In the Lakes region—where Italian options can feel uneven—this spot rises confidently to the top. On my most recent visit, I was seated immediately at a corner table, a small but meaningful luxury in an age of hour-long waits. The dining room, typically hushed enough for actual conversation, again delivered one of its underrated pleasures: a peaceful meal without the intrusive din that plagues so many suburban restaurants. Service followed suit—friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, never hovering or rushing. The kitchen remains the star. My spaghetti with vodka sauce was outstanding—rich, balanced, and among the best renditions I’ve had anywhere in the region. Other entrées at the table echoed the same strengths: sauces with clarity and depth, pastas cooked with confident restraint, portions generous without tipping into excess. Cocktails, too, arrived promptly and properly mixed, further reinforcing the sense of a kitchen-and-bar team that takes pride in their craft. If there is a shortfall, it lies in the ambiance. The room carries a certain charm, but the décor feels a step behind the quality of the food. A refresh of tables, finishes, and overall presentation would elevate the experience from very good to genuinely special. The warmth is there—the aesthetics simply haven’t caught up yet. Even so, the value proposition is undeniable. “Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe has got to hands down be the best food I have had in my 32 years of life. We just got home from a girls trip for my daughter's golden birthday in Chicago this past weekend and I'm ready to hit the road to go back. She ordered the kids Oreo s'mores pancakes of the kid menu. I got the 2 eggs meal which came with 2 eggs, hash browns, choice of meat (got sausage links) and either toast or pancakes. I chose toast. We then ordered her 2 dippy eggs, a side of biscuits and gravy, and got a side of bacon to share. The biscuits and gravy are hands down top tier the best recipe I have ever tasted (I ended up ordering 2 more sides to take home so I would have breakfast tomorrow 🤤). Even after stuffing ourselves with this delicious food none of our group felt miserable in any way. there was no belly discomfort whatsoever. We just felt full and nourished. I will be coming back as often as I can. The food is so hot, so fresh, so flavorful, and overall it was a wonderful experience. Everybody was so friendly , smiley, and just warm personalities. There is quite a wait on Sundays (not sure about other days) but I would wait 4 hours if they told me I had to. They do have an option where you can get on the waiting list online (we did not know that since this was out first time). Now let's talk about their preserves they make in house 🫠🫠 they make a triple berry compote with blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries. It was literal heaven. They sell jars as you are leaving for $11. Guys you have to try this place. I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews but it's so good I can't not leave one. It’s a comfortable, welcoming space that naturally sparks good conversations and cool ideas—some of our best ideas have come out of brainstorming sessions in this spot. Sometimes we’re heads-down getting work done, sometimes sketching things out, sometimes picking up a guitar or playing a little piano between sprints. “Ten years ago began my obsession with Frank’s corn nuggets. In high school, every time I had a dollar to spend, I’d head to Frank’s for an order of corn nuggets. Any time anyone asks me what my favorite food is, for the past ten years it has been Frank’s corn nuggets. Today, for the first time ever, I ordered corn nuggets and they were sold out! I told the owner about my long-held love of these fried treats and how I now live in Wisconsin but often travel to Mundelein specifically to have them. He says he has been trying to get the product in but unfortunately couldn’t get his hands on them lately. I sighed, and ordered a corn dog (closest corn substitute on the menu), onion rings, and sweet potato fries. All were great! At the end of my meal the owner surprises me with a small order of corn nuggets he had searched his supply for after I told him my story. Just great people and great times at Frank’s for the Memories as always! Frank’s holds a space in my heart forever and always and while they don’t have the corn nuggets today I will continue to return for the care and welcoming feel they always provide.

“Tried this restaurant because we happened to be in the area. We ordered the spicy teriyaki and spicy tofu bowl. Both bowls were awesome! Tasted great. We also got the Tum yum sauce which was a nice addition. The bowls were actually not spicy but they gave us hot sauce and bottle of teriyaki sauce. We also ordered the spicy edamame which tasted great. The side of noodles turned out to be very plain noodles so we added some teriyaki and tum yum sauce to it. The regular bowl had enough portion for more than 1 person to eat it. Overall highly recommended!“
