“This place is sooo good! I love a sushi place where we can get thick pieces of sashimi that melt in your mouth. Their rolls and potstickers were also great. My kids have been slowly getting into sushi and they approved of everything. The inside is nice, it's a little updated since it was Lovely Thai. I need to come back soon to try the other foods. “I have been going to Hayashi for years. Whenever, I have a craving for Japanese strip steaks, sushi, or Udon that is my go-to place. Excellent Food, Excellent Service, and Excellent Ambiance. I would highly recommend this Japanese steak house. They go out of their way to serve their customers. “Tokyo Bowl is one of Vernon Hills' hidden gems. It's tucked away in a strip mall off of Townline Road. Ever since I was a child, I've always asked my parents to take me here for a special lunch. Now, it's my go-to spot for sushi dates. Every dish on the menu is beautifully crafted and undeniably delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone who is a fan of Asian cuisine. If you're someone who doesn't like sushi, you should try the Korean cup-bop or the ramen instead. My favorite dishes are the mango ramen, rainbow roll, and beef cup-bop. I'd like to personally thank the business owner for being such a gentleman and providing the best possible service to all of his customers for the many, many years. You are appreciated!“

“Great food! I usually get delivery. Food is always delicious and the soup is hot. I love hot miso soup. I only wish the laws of thermodynamics allowed it to stay piping hot when delivered. Prices are also very reasonable and portion sizes generous.“

“5 stars for the all you can eat. Especially the lunch all you can eat deal! So cheap for good food. Sushi isn’t top notch but why should it be when it’s $30 or less for all you can eat. It’s still very good food! Portion sizes are great. The fried chicken roll was surprisingly good. The rangoons are heavy on cream cheese and the orange chicken wasn’t the best but those are my only complaints. The mochi and sugar donuts are very good too! Same with the egg rolls. Can’t go wrong with really anything. Definitely a must every once and awhile! Staff is friendly and attentive.“

We're creatures of habit, and we order the same thing, usually combination fried rice or pineapple fried rice, crab Rangoon, egg rolls, or the side salad with ginger dressing. “I was skeptical based on reading some of the previous reviews: particularly food/service being slow, etc.Short review: 3.5-4Food could use work, service seems to be improved: food & drinks out without much wait, servers rotating around often. Indoors was nice but could be cleaner.Long:I had the chicken (Hibachi) lunch with Tsukasa soup and fried rice, while my mother had the sushi lunch special.The flavor of the fried rice is lightly sweet. It feels a bit lacking; and could either use more sauce or more sesame (oil) for aromatics. Otherwise, rice itself was cooked nicely, not too oily either.The flavor of the chicken was a bit dull, salt/pepper with a slight lemony flavor. It comes with two options and I'd recommend the Teriyaki over Hibachi just due to the flavor difference.I had a few bites of the sushi special, which was much better. Plenty of sauces for easy flavor adjustments, tempura (and batter) was tasty, and rolls were pretty good, just could be rolled a little tighter/cleaner (the seaweed-nori was split).Service was fast with drinks, appetizers, and main dishes coming out one after the other without much wait. Servers were readily around, water refills, plates taken, etc.The biggest thing about the atmosphere was the cleanliness. To be expected, the floors are a little dirty (good for a Hibachi place), but I wish the tabletops were a bit cleaner. As we sat in the interior, nearby the sushi bar, I expected it to be cleaner. Otherwise, plenty of space, indoor and outdoor light, and nice decor.“
