This is my favorite sushi place within 20 miles. The quality and freshness of their sushi beats every other place nearby. The aptly-named Treasure Box appetizer is an absolute delight! Every roll I've tried is well-made and super fresh. There are many standard rolls along with several specialty rolls to delight the taste buds. The staff are friendly and attentive. We also like the pretty screens separating tables that provide a sense of cosiness and privacy.
Delicious Japanese food and also my favorite in all of Lake County. The Miso soup, salad, Beef & Asparagus, and the amazing Firecracker Roll have been my go to for 15+ years. The setting is very intimate and cozy. Try this place out!

Haven't visited in quite a while, particularly for dinner. The current chef seems to be doing a respectable job with ingredient selection and traditional preparation techniques. I didn't think we'd ever find Tara no Kiku (cod milt) fresh in Mundelein, but they're doing it. They have a nice selection to dine izakaya style. It's pretty spendy though, being higher than other similar spots around.
