I didn't think we'd ever find Tara no Kiku (cod milt) fresh in Mundelein, but they're doing it. They have a nice selection to dine izakaya style. It's pretty spendy though, being higher than other similar spots around.“
“Wow this place is a gem! My husband and I came here last night and got the Godzilla roll, salmon sunset roll, and two different kinds of ramen. Everything was SO delicious and the sushi tasted incredibly fresh. The lady and gentleman that seemed to be running the place are the NICEST individuals. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the food, but we ate it too fast. This place is almost 40 mins for us, but it’s definitely worth the drive, we agreed it would be our go to sushi spot from now on. See you again soon!“
“I was hesitant to start writing, since I wanted to keep the place all to myself! But this would not be fair, so here goes my review. First, consider my vocabulary of superlatives to be already exhausted by previous reviewers. Second, these are the facts: we ate there twice in one week: we had a dinner and then immediately scheduled an omakase. Both time it was a life-changing experience. I kid you not! The sushi dinner was probably the best I ever had this side of the Pacific and this deep inland. In a 'regular' sushi place all sushis taste, well, like the defrosted raw fish with soy sauce. Not chef's Jino's! Each piece was different, complex, and exciting. The omakase performance was on par with a multi-Michelin-star restaurant I've ever been to with the difference being the absence of the usual hits or misses - hits only, be it a souffle, or sashimi, or filet. The host and waiter Danny was helpful and knowledgeable. And the place itself was pretty close to my ideal of a modern upscale restaurant - sleek, contemporary, and yet cosy. To the detriment of my convenience, I can only wish the place to have a month-long waiting list soon enough!“
“Went here on a Friday night recently for the first time with a friend. The host and the waitress made sure that my first experience would be unforgettable. We received delicious appetizers on the house. Service was probably the best service I've received in a really long time. And most importantly the food was delicious and fresh. Staff put so much effort into their service and food. It was refreshing to have such a positive experience at a local restaurant for a change. Will be back again soon!“
“I have been going to Hayashi for years. Whenever, I have a craving for Japanese strip steaks, sushi, or Udon that is my go-to place. Excellent Food, Excellent Service, and Excellent Ambiance. I would highly recommend this Japanese steak house. They go out of their way to serve their customers. “Tokyo Bowl is one of Vernon Hills' hidden gems. It's tucked away in a strip mall off of Townline Road. Ever since I was a child, I've always asked my parents to take me here for a special lunch. Now, it's my go-to spot for sushi dates. Every dish on the menu is beautifully crafted and undeniably delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone who is a fan of Asian cuisine. If you're someone who doesn't like sushi, you should try the Korean cup-bop or the ramen instead. My favorite dishes are the mango ramen, rainbow roll, and beef cup-bop. I'd like to personally thank the business owner for being such a gentleman and providing the best possible service to all of his customers for the many, many years. You are appreciated!“

I fell in love the first time trying this past December.It's amazing what you can do with a relatively short menu and turn it into a growing sensation. The teriyaki chicken here is the bomb!With some similarity to the likes of such competitors as Panda or Cajun Grill in the mall, TM definitely comes out on top as far as taste and that teriyaki sauce is boss!Clean dining area, still reasonable prices despite the madness roughly the last 4 years and friendly customer service servin' up delicious Asian fare.I hope this chain continues to expand and continue sprouting all over the country. “I finally discovered this cosy restaurant which was on my list quite awhile. Everything we tried today was excellent. Miso soup and boiled edamame were just as good as expected. The highlight of my dinner was a sashimi plate! The quality of the medium fatty blue fin tuna and lean blue fin tuna was outstanding. Sake toro and escolar sashimi were mouthwatering. The charred flavor of my husband's squid and mushrooms was delightful. His skewers of chicken and beef were well prepared. His sushi selection of octopus, squid, egg and smoked salmon was fresh and well presented. We were really impressed by the very generous portions and the very fair pricing of the outstanding quality fish compared to the other Japanese restaurants. The sake selection is fantastic and reasonably priced as well. The service was attentive and efficient. We cannot wait to come back. I highly recommend!“

“I have driven by this restaurant for 3 years and finally tried it. I wish I would have stopped sooner. A gem of a restaurant, with amazing food and great service. I am a sucker for breakfast so when I saw that they serve it until 230, I had to try. The Alaska Benedict was TO DIE FOR!! The Wasabi hollandaise was such a surprisingly delightful taste. The cucumbers and lemon added a flavor and crunch that I never knew I needed in my benedict. It also came with potatoes and brussel sprouts that blew me away. Seriously, you have to try it. I also ordered a Philly roll and it was the best I've had. The smoked salmon on the Benedict and the roll was so good. The breakfast menu looks fantastic, along with the regular menu. I absolutely will be returning, I need to make up for lost time!“

“Fuji Thai is the best restaurant in the area! I worked here for 4 years when I was younger and Ive been back as a customer every time I’m in town for the past 5 years. “The all-you-can-eat dinner is a good way to try many things on the menu. I have tried about ten different rolls over the years. My two favorite rolls are Black Dragon and Snow Mountain (see the attached picture). The Snow Mountain Roll is not on the all-you-can-eat menu. For some reason, the salmon tasted slightly fishy this time. One time we came as a large party and only two people wanted the all-you-can-eat option. We were told that everyone at the table needed to order all-you-can-eat. I can understand the reasoning for that.“
