We won free dinner tickets and decided to give it a try. It was surprisingly delicious. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was delicious. Will most likely go back again.

They did not check our reservation to know it was our anniversary, the waiter sent our drinks to the wrong table, and never put our appetizer in. So we had our entree, then waited 25 minutes for our appetizer. The staff was friendly, but seemed to be lacking on training. We were barley visited which led to less drinks and less fun. But the food was amazing
The Hubby and I wanted to grab a quick dinner before seeing a show at the Genesee Theater. I decided to check out the American Place Casino located nearby the Theater.
We were not aware of protocols for visiting a Casino and were slightly surprised to see that there is a security check for bags and an ID is scanned into their computer by a security guard. No worries, it took just a few minutes.
The Asia Azteca restaurant is located way in the back of the Casino. We had reservations but, they were not really needed. The restaurant had only a handful of diners.
Overall, the restaurant is very large with tall ceilings. It is casual dining and combines Asian and Mexican cuisine. The decor was minimal, mostly Asian.
We were not very hungry and decided to share a few appetizers, which arrived one after another, Tapas style: Empanadas w/chimichurri sauce, Beef Skewers and the steamed pork buns. Everything was basic food, not bad but not high quality. Which was totally fine.
The one OOPS which happened, I ordered a dirty martini and a glass of water with a lemon slice. I got the water and the martini but, the Bar Tender added lemon to the dirty martini? It was a weird combination.
We gave Asia Azteca a try overall, there are other Asian and Mexican local restaurants with better food quality, a little less in price, larger quantities and you don't have to go through a security line to get to the restaurant.
Everything that is cooked is at the moment so it takes a little time but all the dishes are delicious, it is worth the wait, thank you cooks for your seasoning, I will be back soon
Dined in and service was horrible. Never came to refill my water and some of my food never came out. Waited about 45 minutes and seen other tables received their entrees so I just told the server to cancel my food and give me the bill. To top it off, it wasn’t even busy. Only 3 tables was eating. Never again!
Food is terrible not a bit of asian taste and very expensive too u dont get what u expect i think the chef dont even understand what he is cooking so disappointed better go to mcdonalds outside the casino hope they will make real ASIAN foods!
FOOD WAS WAY BETTER BEFORE. I DON’T KNOW WHOSE IDEA IT WAS TO CHANGE THE SWEET CHILI CHICKEN WINGS WITH THE FUN LITTLE CRUNCHY NOODLES, AND THE SHREDDED BARBECUE PORK BUNS WITH THE CUCUMBERS AND CILANTRO ON THE SIDE, BUT IT WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA. THE CHICKEN WINGS ARE JUST FLAVORLESS DRY FRIED WINGS, THAT THEY GIVE YOU A CUP OF SAUCE ON THE SIDE TO POUR ON THEM, AND PORK BUNS JUST HAVE A THICK FATTY DRY SLAB OF FLAVORLESS MEAT IN BETWEEN THE BUN NOW, AND INSTEAD OF THE DELICIOUS CUCUMBER AND CILANTRO SIDE, ITS JUST A CUP OF SALSA AND A CUP OF SOUR CREAM. THE PREVIOUS BUNS YOU COULD JUST OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND ENJOY.THE MENU HAS CHANGED DRASTICALLY, AND IT SUX NOW.I DONT SEE IT LASTING TOO LONG.
Great choice especially if seeing a show at the Genesee Theater as Waukegan does not have a lot of fine dining. Really good food moderately priced and large portions. Service is a little slow but the food comes out really fast.. the bar sometimes gets drinks confused but all is quickly remedied. I recommend it highly
It was our first time eating at the casino. The hostess was extremely pleasant. The waitress came over as soon as we were seated and explained that the menu was food that could be shared or each eat our own choice. There was plenty to share. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all good, especially the Mongolian beef. We did not have anything from the bar so I can't comment on that

I have eaten here twice now. Both times it was excellent. I will return. Love it.
Great service! The food was very tasty. Nice place to grab a bite. We especially enjoyed the bao buns.
Don't waste your time. The menu is extremely limited and the food is sub par. The chicken noodle soup was ok. Dumplings ok, empanada burnt. Service was great, he did his best to make it up.

The Asian restaurant at Potawatomi casino is 10x better than this place. I don't think I'll eat here again anytime soon. Maybe I'll try it again when they open up the permanent casino. I feel that the ingredients and the oil they use at Aztec is not fresh; after eating the food I kept burping up the food which is a key indicator that the food was not fresh.
