“Sit-down restaurant covers a couple of storefronts and is next to a liquor store in a crowded strip mall. Appears to be a go-to place for Hispanics. Food prepared in the open; you can watch but might prefer sitting down. Staff professional & friendly. Vegetarian walked in, ordered take-out: Steak taco and steak burritos for Foodie. Took about 10 minutes. Manager obviously speaks English as second language, but better than Vegetarian's Spanish. Foodie said everything was delicious. Vegetarian used the bathroom. It was clean.“

“Andrew was amazing. The food was incredible, service was great, the atmosphere was warm, happy, festive, and saw a lot of locals. Friends... Get here soon! The prices are FANTASTIC! There's only one huge problem... Huge... The name on the building is what they specialize in and not the actual name of the restaurant. The big bold signage says "taco Tequila" but their name is EL Pato LoCo. Attention Owners: eather consider changing the name on the building or changing the name of the restaurant. This is an amazing place to dine at. You're not doing yourself any favors by advertising the wrong verbage! “Attempted to order a quesadilla with the rest of the order and the dude stated that that item is an online exclusive. Basically if I wanted to order one I would need to place a separate order through the app and wait in the store for them to make it and put it on the shelf while I held the rest of my food I just ordered in person in the store. Estimated pickup time on the quesadilla 30 minutes. 🙄 That's pretty poor thinking/customer service Chipotle. Do better. Plenty of other options in the area as well as a Qdoba that delivers.“

“I was fan of La Poblanita I always recomended to friends and Family, my wife took me to La poblanita on Valentine's cause she knows I love it, Unfortunately the last 2 times is been dissapointed, food was tasteless and they charged me $.50 for extra lemon, I get it economy is bad, but If you going to charge for something that usually is Free at least let the customer Know, I dont think Im going back 😪😪.“

“It's hard to find Mexican restaurants to get absolutely everything right, this is the one. Rice and beans were great, Pollo a la Mexicana was the perfect amount of taste and spiciness. The cheese stretches multiple feet into the air like it was real fresh cheese melted to perfection. I can't recommend this place enough. The building is very cute and the staff is super nice.“

“We were driving thru IL and I found this taco place on my drive. Decided to give it a try. Ended up getting steak, chicken and pork tacos to try. I would rate my favorite in the order. I would come again if I passing thru. Some places in the past have a little station with onions, pico, etc. Be nice to have that. That’s my only complains.“

“Arrachera Mexican Grill has been exceptional since the moment I walked in. The service is amazing, friendly, fast, and they’ve treated me very well every time. I even got a free sample of their quesabirria, which came out quick and was delicious.

The consomé that comes with the quesabirria is rich and full of flavor. Not too strong or too light, just a perfect balance. A lot of places struggle to match their consomé to their quesabirria, but this spot really nails it.

The green salsa is creamy and pairs perfectly with their tacos, which are priced very fairly. Some places nearby charge close to $5 per taco, but here the prices feel perfect for the quality and flavor you get. The red salsa isn’t exactly my flavor palette, but that doesn’t take away from how good the food is overall.

I ordered the quesabirria, an arrachera taco, a chorizo taco, a torta cubana, and flan. Everything came out fresh, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The arrachera was tender and the flan was the perfect sweet finish.

As a Carpentersville native, I can honestly say this spot stands out above other established Mexican restaurants nearby. Better quality, better flavor, and better prices.

They’ve only been open about five months, but Arrachera Mexican Grill is already one of the best new spots in town. Highly recommend.“

Christian, our server answered our many questions about the food and emboldened us to try selections we’d never had before! I loved the charbroiled skirt steak, ceviche, those pork appetizers I’ve never heard of, and my frozen strawberry margaritas. Others at the table had enchiladas, tamales, sangria and beer.
