A trip the Schmidt Bakery for the annual Cherry Thing-a-lings has become a tradition for my grandsons and me. For now over 8 years we rise early during President's Day weekend and make the hour-long drive for warm, unique and cherry filled goodness. Just got back from the 2024 run, jazzed and looking forward to 2025. Please keep'm coming Bertie!
ATMOSPHERE: It's a small local bakery that garners attention yearly on the news during lent for its cherry thing-a-ling. Due to the size, they only allowed 10 people in at a time. I first saw the covering of this bakery on the news last year, but I didn't get a chance to make the journey. This year, after seeing it on the news again, I did.
