Big Willys Lakehouse Reviews
we were so excited to try it but we were let down so hard. i ordered prime rib rare and it came out more than well done. idk if they tossed it in the microwave or what! the hash brown casserole was inedible. the mac and cheese was flavorless and some of the noodles were crunchy. the steak cheese fries app was awful and the bacon tasted like a dog treat. the steak salad looked good but it was old, cold steak full of gristle. the rolls were cold and kinda gross and EVEN the dr pepper...read full review
The food and service was great!!
Waitress was less than desirable. She gave me the wrong drink (it happens ) but took 25 additional mins to get mine. I didn’t get my salad, had to ask for it. My prime rib was cold not cool but Cold. She said it happens a lot because of being busy and running them upstairs and prime rib isn’t usually real warm. I’ve had it several times and never cold. Big Willys Lakehouse offers outstanding food and exceptional service, making it a great place to visit. The catfish dinner, fried bluegill, and portabella fries are highly recommended, while the Fillet Mignon and Cod dishes also receive praise from customers. The loaded mashed potatoes and grilled chicken are favorites, and many agree that the food is fresh and hot, definitely not frozen. The restaurant’s patio provides a lovely view, and the staff ensures excellent service, keeping glasses full and conversations enjoyable. Although the restaurant could use some cleaning and maintenance, the overall atmosphere is welcoming, with uniquely lit spaces that delight families, especially children who love pointing out their favorite colored stars on the ceiling.
Despite its outdated appearance, the food and service more than make up for it. Customers report that everything comes out timely and that the staff is pleasant, even when new. Big Willys Lakehouse is often busy, and reservations are recommended. While some customers note that the water may taste a bit strange, which affects the sodas, the overall dining experience is still enjoyable. The cleanliness and smiling customers suggest a well-maintained establishment. The only minor criticism is the lack of a current beer list, which could be improved by management. Overall, Big Willys Lakehouse remains a place where the food is actually seasoned and where guests are eager to return.
