“We live in Columbus Indiana and go to the local Culvers a few times a month but we were in Evansville Saturday night and as we were heading back to Columbus we hadn't eaten so we drove through this Culvers. Everything was pretty decent except there was an abundance of salt on my onion rings. Who puts salt on onion rings??? I had to scrape it off just to eat them. Is it just me or has fast food service gone in the toilet the last few years?“

“I love to go to Frankie's. Their cooks always cook the food they way I order it and the service is excellent. My favorite breakfast is the avocado toast. The cook always gets the eggs perfect.“

“Some of my earliest childhood memories are of going to Merry Go Round with my grandparents, where we were always treated with the kind of warmth and hospitality you never forget. I can still remember getting lost in the charm of it all — the diner feel that nodded back to its early days, the carousel horses proudly displayed at every angle, and of course, the unforgettable cooking — especially the spaghetti.

Over the years, we made so many memories there. When my grandma passed away three years ago, I found myself thinking of that place often — how special it was to us both. I couldn’t bring myself to go back, not without her. Merry Go Round wasn’t just a restaurant to her — it was a part of her story. She used to tell me how her own mother once worked there. Her loyalty to that little diner kept our family coming back for generations.

Today, I finally gathered the courage to see if the doors were still open — and to my joy, they were. With my children in hand, off we went. Walking through those doors felt like stepping back home. The familiar warmth met us immediately — smiling faces, genuine hospitality, and that same sense of belonging that I remembered so well. The carousel horse still stood proudly in the center of the diner, just as it had years ago.

We sat down, and our sweet server brought the boys applesauce and crackers. It made me smile remembering eating the same as a child. I showed the boys how to dip their crackers in the applesauce, explaining how it was the perfect little palate cleanser before the spaghetti. And when the spaghetti arrived, it looked exactly as I remembered. But the taste — the taste brought me right back to sitting beside my grandparents laughing around the table.

After all these years, they’ve stayed true to who they are — honoring their history. It’s rare to find that kind of authenticity anymore with great food to back it up.

To our wonderful server with mother-like hospitality, and to the kind man who greeted us with a smile and great conversation and a clear love for the restaurant — thank you. My heart is full again. Today, I felt my grandma with me — and through that meal, I got to have a little piece of her once more. I will make sure to not be a stranger again. THANK YOU.“

I have recently been diagnosed with alpha gal and was nervous eating out, but the waitress and kitchen were extremely accommodating. they took time to listen and write down my allergies as well as deliver exceptionally good food. “I cannot tell you how wonderful the customer service is at the Evansville, IN Honey Baked Ham store! We ordered a ham to be delivered to a friend from the corporate store and found out today, 3 days before Christmas, that the delivery would not happened until the 27th!! I made a desperate call from South Carolina to see if the local store could help in any way and you would not believe how wonderful everyone was! They were most certainly dealing with lines of customers on this day and yet, my problem became their problem as they searched for ways to save the day. When we realised there were no delivery options that would work before Christmas, Eric, the store manager, offered to make the delivery himself! This is really unbelievable - he didn't know us at all, but he most certainly thought we would not be a repeat customer because we are not from the area, and yet he cared enough to personally take care of us. I think his actions speak volumes.“

“I cannot say enough good things about this place. We used STP Inn for our wedding catering and alcohol and from start to finish, Mary and Steven and their crew took such good care of us. They remembered all of the little details. Mary even remembered that I’m obsessed with Chex mix and saved me a bag for after the wedding. These guys are who you need to use for your events. Amazing food too. From the cocktail hour snacks, to the buffet, to the late night taco bar.. it was all a hit. They helped make our wedding the best day ever. Thank you STP Inn!“

“It’s a great place to eat .. I will say I was unhappy with service.. I booked the event room .. explain Arrival time was 815-830.. so when guest started to arrive at exactly 815 the room was not ready at all .. every table was filled with dishes. I had approx 20 people five or take I told them on the phone that morning.. they finally got 2 sets of 2 tables that comfortably was set up in the main dining room as 4 to table they crammed 10 chairs to these tables.. when I asked for another set of tables to be cleaned our server wouldn’t speak to me but rolled her eyes so I went to talk to someone else.. when they approached her with me she told me that she was my server. And she still has not started cleaning tables instead she told me there were 20 chairs total at those tables.. I had to get upset and told her we were crammed and everyone unhappy and told her I wanted 2 more tables cleaned.. PLEASE!!! Finally she did with an attitude and goin so slow like it killed her.. she was prob 25yr old .. then she sat out on her phone and I had to get up and get her if we needed drinks or anything. It would been a great night if had a good server.“
