“I was so excited when I saw this place spring up a few months ago before they even opened. Finally got the chance to stop in today for dinner and had one of the best meals I've had in years. We ordered hungry and bought a ton of food because we were excited to try so many things. The panner pakora was make you dance in your seat good. And the Samosa dilli style was mouth watering. Samosas were still crispy even under all of that delicious sauce and veggies. Portions are generous and price is very fair. I spent about $40 and my husband and I Gorged our bellies and still brought home a feast. Sad we didn't save room for more deserts. We can't wait to come back and try more. Lunch Buffet Friday to Sunday, a very large selection of delicious food served with a choice of fresh bread, either plain or garlic. “I recently visited Mitran Da Dhaba craving authentic North Indian comfort food, and left thoroughly impressed. Nestled outside Indianapolis, the restaurant instantly transported me back to India without feeling gimmicky.
I ordered the Baingan ka Bharta and Tawa Roti and both exceeded expectations. The baingan ka bharta was a smoky revelation. Perfectly roasted eggplant mashed with ripe tomatoes, onions, green chilies, and a generous tempering of cumin, garlic, and fresh cilantro delivered that unmistakable charred flavor you only get from traditional wood-fire or direct-flame cooking. It wasn’t overly oily or watery like some Americanized versions; instead, it had a rich, rustic texture and balanced spice level that made every bite deeply satisfying. Paired with the soft yet slightly crisp tawa roti, which had beautiful brown spots and retained its warmth and chew, the combination was pure bliss. The roti tasted homemade—fluffy inside with that signature tawa aroma.
Portions were generous, and the attentive staff was quick to refill our water and offer suggestions. The mango lassi we tried was refreshingly thick and not overly sweet. While the prices are typical for a US Indian restaurant, the quality and authenticity made it worth every penny.
