“We were a group of 9; 6 adults & 3 children looking for a more sit-down place to eat when the owner talked us into staying telling us we would not be disappointed, and we were not. Their menu had a huge variety of food to choose from, and all of us thought the food was great! I had French toast, hash browns & sausage. My husband had an awesome shrimp omlette that had more shrimp on it than anywhere else we have ever eaten that put shrimp in its breakfast. And even thought it was all packagesd as take out, there were three tables available to sit and eat. It worked for us! Great job S&G! It's a well-earned 5 star review!“

“First time Golden Bear in Lansing. The food and service was great. However, when I checked my bank account I was charged $9.98 more then the amount on the receipt I received from the register. When I went back the manager was very nice & helpful. She refunded the $. The restaurant receipt had the same amount. I pulled up my bank account & showed her the amount from my bank. We both thought it was so strange! Maybe the register malfunctioned? Again the manager was awesome!“

“Great value and even better service. Ordered the Indiana Skillet w/pancakes. It was enormous and delicious, served quickly, and the server was incredibly attentive and friendly. The server provided all of extras, as well; butters, jams, condiments, coffee creamers up front, and kept the coffees and water glasses full. Truly a great experience. I am looking forward to head back soon.“

“My first experience here, chose the chorizo hash skillet for breakfast. It was HUGE and beautifully topped with great tasting guacamole and a roasted jalapeño. The flavor had just the right amount of heat. Enjoyed every bite. My waitress was fun to chat with. Even met the owner. My new favorite breakfast place whenever I am in town. 5 stars!“

“Food is usually pretty good here. Service during the day is good but if you go in late at night, just be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for your check or Togo boxes. Portion sizes are decent. Nice selection of desserts in the front. Bathrooms are taken care of pretty well.“

“Anosto C was very professional, friendly, and attentive. Hopefully he's working his way through college because he should be on the main shift for others to experience. We stopped in late at night and he did not disappoint. Food was flawless and service, again was spot on. Management material if it is his desire or part of his plan. “Stopped there on June 19th for a quick light dinner of breakfast food. Hannah was our server and she was so nice and attentive. The food was fabulous. It had been so long since I had what I considered perfect breakfast food I was so happy with taste and presentation. The place was fairly empty at 5 pm and I can only think people didn't know they had an awesome chef in the back and great servers on the floor. If I didn't live in LaPorte I would be here once a week. My local IHop is lame compared to this location. I don't know who was making the food that day but they were so good at making it look and taste better than any meal I have ever had from IHop. My adult son even said I should leave a great review because he was also impressed. Thanks for a great meal!“
