“We come here from a western Chicago suburb because the food has always, always been great. My husband loves the frog legs and I love the perch, the best perch I’ve ever eaten, truly. We came here on Thursday evening, a real spur-of-the-moment thing and weren’t disappointed. This time I ordered the walleye pike & found it delicious. Two big filets of it which I enjoyed thoroughly. My husband got the frog legs as usual; neither of us went away hungry & loved everything. It’s dismaying to hear that others have had bad service or less than excellent food; we have never had that experience in the last 15 years that we’ve come here. A terrific night out! “My friend and I ate here in the middle of the afternoon and we both had breakfasts. Server was very friendly and attentive. Food was very good. Prices were excellent. Chopped steak was delicious. My friend had the french toast. Nothing to complain about other than could change out some light bulbs.“

“I recently stopped by Texas Corral for lunch and had a very enjoyable experience from start to finish. We arrived during lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised to have no wait at all, which made it an easy and relaxed visit. The dining area was clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming, casual atmosphere that works well for both quick lunches and sit-down meals.

For our meals, we ordered the ribeye steak and the country fried steak. Both entrées were seasoned well and cooked just right. The ribeye was juicy, flavorful, and tender, with a nice balance of seasoning that didn’t overpower the meat. The country fried steak was equally satisfying—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired perfectly with rich, savory gravy. Portions were generous and filling, especially for a lunch meal.

Service was another highlight of our visit. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out promptly without feeling rushed. Drinks were refilled regularly, and we felt well taken care of throughout the meal.

“The pros definitely outweigh the cons (which aren't actually cons at all) when dining at The Wheel Family Restaurant, which is open 24 hours a day.

Basically a 4 course meal for most of its menu options, the generous portions will leave the majority of us full, satisfied, and in need of a to-go box.

The atmosphere is typical of a diner style and the prices are exceptionally reasonable. Can't speak for all, but MY server was so great that I tipped her about 50%.

If I absolutely HAD to include a con, it would have to be my desire for my entree to have been more seasoned. But I guess that's what the salt and pepper shakers are there for, right?“

“I have always liked Bob Evans but this particular day there was a young lady there by the name of Shay Davis. She was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable and personable with everyone that she came in contact with. My order was correct, hot and very enjoyable. Because of Ms. Shay I will definitely be back to this location and tell everyone that I know about this location. She should be moved up to General Manager because she definitely knows her stuff.“

“Haven't ate there in YEARS!!!!BUT did today and it was awesome....EVERYTHING we had was great, potato soup IS the best EVER!!!! Had that and breaded veal senior meal AND the beef hot plate senior meal and was awesome AND the service from the hostess, requested a specific seat/booth with the best lighting to see better and was accommodated with a smile and waitress was awesome!!! Definitely WILL be back again and often.“
