First and foremost, our service was amazing! From start to finish the staff and our chef could not have been better. Although our waitress did not bring our entire order out. We were supposed to get ice cream with our meal and didn't. But she was so kind and SO accommodating to everyone at our table. The people we sat with were not very nice to her. She remained composed and professional the entire time. We simply just did not like the food. We love hibachi and eat it often, but this was our first experience with a Benihanas and we just did not like any of the staples (rice, veggies etc.) No fault of the location. Just not our cup of tea and sadly we won't be back because of that.

Randomly decided to celebrate my niece’s birthday here. She went in at 9p and was told a 20 minute wait. She waited 45 minutes all the while being asked what would she like to do because they were closing at 11. Terrible.

Slayde was an incredible server! We visit Benihana at least twice a year and have noticed the service getting very slow until tonight. She was totally on top of everything from drinks to appetizers to the bill. Unfortunately, we were sitting at a communal table with a couple unhappy people, but Slayde had nothing to do with it. They were even rude to us, so I think they were just unhappy people in general. I can’t say enough about how much I’ve noticed a change in our experience because of this visit. Go, Slayde!

This was my first time here I’ve heard so much about it and I to be honest was not impressed. Our waiter was spectacular and took care of us very well. The food was ehh; I found the taste was not very good as everyone says it was very bland. Then the menu says you get this and this but didn’t get half of what it said. The salad dressing was absolutely gross and not like my local hibachi. The fried rice was dry like cardboard. Then the atmosphere it is so loud in there you can barely hear your party talk without yelling. Long story short for the amount I paid I expected better because it is not cheap. Will not be returning here.

I am leaving a mixed review due to our situation last night, 3/9/24, at Benihana Indianapolis. While the manager tried very hard to make up for her staff’s poor service, the hostess and the wait staff were rude, unprofessional, and neglectful.I made our reservation at 4:00 to celebrate my husband’s birthday since we had to leave by 6:15 for a concert. There were five people in our party altogether. I believed that over two hours was enough time, and Benihana itself asks for one hour and 50 minutes for service. Allowing some extra time to be seated, this seemed like more than enough time.We arrived on time at 4:00 PM, and the hostess herself appeared to be dull and unfocused. She had a hard time with our name and then asked us to wait. There were plenty of tables available, and it was early enough that the restaurant was not busy. The waiting area began to fill with people. By the time she called our name, 30 minutes later, the waiting room had 20-25 people in it. We are patient people, but my husband was concerned about the wait time. He approached the hostess when about 20-25 minutes had gone by and asked when we would be seated. She told him to go back and sit down. Mind you, this is his birthday dinner. When we were finally called to a table, 35 minutes after we arrived, we were seated, handed menus, and then ignored. I approached a server in 10 minutes and asked to have wait staff. She told me, and I quote, that my table was not in her section but she could see if there was someone available. Then she went back to what she was doing.I went back to sit down, at which point in time we discussed going elsewhere due to concerns about arriving to our concert in time. The manager, Amanda, came over to inquire about the situation and learned how long we had waited. She brought back a server, Destany, whom we had seen helping out at other tables but had not seemed busy. Amanda also worked hard to redeem our experience, sending Ronaldo, who was a good chef, and bringing a free appetizer herself. The experience of going to Benihana, however, was wasted; Ronaldo had to cook a dinner in half the time he would have normally had. The time that he should have had to cook was used up by the neglect of his teammates. From a personnel experience, I hope that Benihana leadership reminds its hostesses and wait staff that people come to be seated in a timely manner, especially when it is early and the restaurant is not busy. Customers also expect to be treated kindly. Restaurant staff need to act as part of a team; when it is every person for themselves, that reflects poorly on everyone. There are many different options for an expensive meal, and we will consider other restaurants for celebrations in the future.

Went for lunch and had the BEST experience I have ever had. Liam, our server, was amazing!! Arturo, our chef, gave us a show, while also doing so in a timely manner, it was awesome! The food was great. To end off, we got the complimentary ice cream, and Amanda concluded our amazing experience with her fantastic customer service!!! I will be back so SOON!

I ordered the six course and I didn't get the ice cream until I asked for it. It was less than one scoop of the sherbet, and there was no green tea. Unfortunately, the food was under seasoned and the Pepsi that I ordered. Yes, she did fill it once, but I couldn't, ask her to refill it more often because I didn't see her more than just the one time she came to refill everybody's drink. I felt like we were trying to be pushed out.

We go for hibachi frequently, and this was probably the best hibachi we have ever been to. Good food and friendly entertaining staff.
