Benihana Reviews
My mother and family came to Benihana in Indianapolis, Keystone and the Crossing on July 21, 2025 for her 60th birthday. She loved this place. We arrived at 6:30pm and it’s after 8:00pm and a chef has not served our 9-person table. We have watched people who came in with us and even after us all be served. Based on the reviews, Benihana is a restaurant known for its hibachi dining experience, often chosen for special occasions like birthdays. The food and overall experience can vary greatly by location and visit. Some guests enjoyed their time, noting a great dinner and that the food was very good, with one reviewer loving the Salmon for the first time. Others found the food disappointing, describing the quality as low with a steak that was 60% fat and bland flavor. Portion sizes were noted as small, and the fried rice costs $7.00 more than white rice. The service also receives mixed feedback. While some servers and cooks were described as amazing and wonderful, other experiences included a chef who did not season anything or perform tricks, and a birthday celebration that was not acknowledged. The hostess was highlighted as a saving grace. The restaurant environment could benefit from a refresh of the tables and flooring. The experience is often seen as overpriced, with one group feeling they should have gone to a cheap generic hibachi instead.
