Cafe Oztara Reviews
The staff are absolutely lovely people. The coffee was nice and everybody was just so positive in nature. One of the few times that the environment is just stellar.
I have a recommendation for you. If you haven’t made it over to Cafe Oztara, Damien Center’s new cafe and coffee shop, it is an absolute must. It’s the Calvin Fletchers to Holy Cross. The warmth, delicious menu, superb drinks…shall I go on? Yes, I shall. The staff, the art, the atmosphere, the chef, the locally sourced roast, the mission…Patronize. Invite a friend. Keep it up. We need Cafe Oztara in our lives.
The Damien Center has a new coffee shop called Cafe Oztara and it is an intimate and safe space for all ages. I went to the soft opening and was very impressed. This Friday will be the Grand Opening to the public. Stop by and grab a cold brew, a parfait, a croissant or avocado toast or something. This place is for all ages and can be available for a small meeting, do some homework, a safe space to possibly meet a new partner, have lunch and more. Follow their Facebook page for...read full review

Cafe Oztara is a coffee shop with a mission, blending coffee, community, and career training. It offers a welcoming and supportive environment, especially for the LGBTQIA+ community, and is a safe space on the Damien Center campus. The decor is described as sublime, creating a sense of warmth and welcome.
The cafe provides a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverage products, along with pastries, breakfast items, and light sandwiches. Specific menu items mentioned include grilled cheese and cold sandwiches. While the coffee and tea staples are considered quality, there are also fun coffee/tea specials. The drinks can be made hot or iced. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10 am, and lunch from 10 am to 2:30 pm.
The staff is consistently described as friendly and the sense of hospitality is strong. Cafe Oztara also plays a role in the Employment Skills Development Program, offering Damien Center clients hands-on training and essential skills for employment in hospitality and management. This program focuses on enhancing independence and creating success through mentorship and ongoing support.
While many appreciate the excellent drinks and great vibes, some reviews note that the prices can be very high, with specific mentions of high costs for sandwiches and drinks. One reviewer found the soup to have a strange, chunky texture, tasting more like pasta sauce. Despite price concerns, the place is considered a cute spot, and many express a desire to visit again for the coffee and the atmosphere. Accessibility has been improved, making it easier for wheelchair users to access the location.
