GuruJi Foods offers excellent vegetarian Indian food, with dishes like chole bhature and chickoshake standing out. The front staff is kind, and the prices are reasonable. Located conveniently close to the highway, it’s a great stop for authentic Indian cuisine like Chole Bathuray, Idly Sambar Dip, Aloo Paratha, and Aloo Tikki Chat. The menu may not be very extensive, but the food is good for reasonable prices, and the samosas are considered probably the best in the US. The basic thali is well priced and worth trying, offering a delicious variety including Dal Makhani, saag, garlic naan, and seasoned rice. The restaurant has an authentic Punjabi dhaba atmosphere, with friendly and polite staff who often wait after closing time to ensure customers finish their meals. It is a little hidden gem in the south side of Indy, perfect for families and friends looking for fresh, home-like vegetarian Indian food. Recent reviews highlight the quality of dishes like chole bhature, chaat, jalebi, aloo paneer bread pakora, and the tandoori soya chaap, which has been described as amazingly delicious. The food is freshly made and very authentic, with the mixed paratha being a favorite. Overall, GuruJi Foods is a welcoming place with good service and tasty food, making it a highly recommended spot for anyone craving Indian cuisine.
