I've known the owner James for almost 12 years now. And not only is he a phenomenal chef, he is wonderful father and friend. Im so proud of him and his accomplishments. Im at the 30th and Shadeland location (original location). But he has a new location on 86th and Ditch. So if you are in the area of either go in and get yourself a real plate of extraordinary food. Tell him Steve Malichi sent you.

Had a craving for barbecue, ordered the Chef 2J's Feast, chose pulled pork and brisket, comes with 2 sides, green beans and potatoe salad. Place was busy for Sunday dinner before the dinner rush so decided to order take home. The food was delicious! Green beans taste home cooked; excellent! Potatoe salad is a sweet like coleslaw flavor aka southern style, not my personal favorite. I'm Midwestern. The meat was a phenomenal, smoked flavor. Peach cobbler is super sweet, just a few bites was all I needed. There was enough food for 3 meals, yay leftovers! They forgot the cornbread but I was too full to care. The staff are super friendly and will return.

It's like a best kept secret. I've passed it many times. And didn't even notice it. But trust me! This place is a home run if you're looking for good food!

Here for work from Florida and was told to check them out. Had the grilled cheese brisket , mac and cheese and greens with the sweet tea (uptown i think it was called). Everything was really good. No complaints and the staff was friendly and always checked if I needed anything. Definitely recommend! I was too hungry and forgot to take a pic lol

Loved the vibe from the place and staff but the food was absolutely amazing. The chicken and waffles are top notch, the burgers are fantastic and that peach cobbler is smack yo momma good. Food was so good we even ordered some to go because we just had to try more.

When they first open on 86th St. the food was delicious it was I was down there every other week I left and came back went out of town went home I came back ordered the same thing that I usually eat and it was so much salt in it I was shocked And I kept asking Did they get another chef because the food has just completely changed I know a lot of people like salt but when you don't eat salt everything is salty my catfish my greens everything and I was very disappointed

It was delicious. I took my one year old grandson to introduce him to real soul foodā¦fried chicken and sweet potatoes (which tasted like manna from heaven). We were in a hurry as we had a doc appt and I needed to feed a hungry one year old quickly. I told the waitress we were in a hurry and she quickly sat us down, brought it out in a to go container and let us eat what we could there and take what we couldnāt. She was fabulous! Canāt wait to go again. Weāve been several times before but since Iām not on that side of town often, I forget about it. Their banana pudding and smoked meatloaf is āchefās kissā.
