Shapiro's Delicatessen Reviews
Shapiro’s makes the best corned beef anywhere. We stop on our way to and from Wisconsin and Florida. The staff is so friendly, kind, and full of fun! Be sure to say hi to Whitney while you’re there!
I visited the Indy airport location at 10am on a Sunday. They were not serving breakfast sammies (my norm when I travel and advertised to serve until 10:30) and said they were only serving turkey sammies for lunch. We stepped down to Shake Shack. The entire time we were there, we saw a handful of people go through Shapiro's while Shake Shack and Starbucks were slammed! You might want to reevaluate your Sunday morning offerings!
Fantastic Reuben! And great service! Make sure you talk to Greg while you’re there - he’s the best!!

Shapiro's Delicatessen in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a well-known establishment celebrated for its high-quality food and diverse menu options. Customers can enjoy a variety of freshly made meats, such as meatloaf, chicken, pastrami, and corned beef, along with an assortment of side dishes. The deli is particularly famous for its beef brisket, rye bread, and German potato salad. The Reuben sandwich has gained popularity among visitors, with many recommending it. Desserts like the apple pie and carrot cheesecake are also must-tries. The atmosphere is lively, resembling a cafeteria, making it a decent place to socialize with friends and family. Prices are considered reasonable, especially for the generous portions and fresh ingredients, though some find certain items, like the Reuben, to be a bit pricey. Overall, Shapiro's Delicatessen offers a satisfying dining experience. Parking is available in downtown Indianapolis, but it can be busy, making it hard to find a spot. Kid-friendliness is moderate; the restaurant welcomes kids but has a cafeteria-style setup.
