Whiskey Bars in Indianapolis, IN

West Fork Whiskey Co. Indianapolis Whiskey Bar • $$
1660 Bellefontaine St, Indianapolis

“Stopped in at 9 PM the other night with a group of 6. One bartender working. He was accommodating, friendly, and attentive despite it being nearly closing time. One of the group wanted a non-alcoholic hot drink. He quickly offered to make her something off menu. Industrial vibe, but not cold and sterile. Well made, strong Old Fashioneds with Luxardo cherries. Will return when we have more time.“

Broken Barrel — Geist Cocktail Bar • $$
11699 Fall Creek Rd, Indianapolis

“The Broken Barrel (TBB) is Wolfies' cocktail lounge concept. At the Geist location, TBB is located upstairs. I came to Wolfies on a Saturday night because I wanted to eat outside with a view of the reservoir. However, I wasn't the only one with that brilliant idea and Wolfies was packed. There were some seats at the bar, but the view wasn't great from there. Then I remembered walking past the staircase to go up to TBB so I decided to have a look. It was almost completely empty in the upstairs lounge except for 1 bartender. I asked if I could order off the Wolfies menu and he said "Of course!" He even pointed me to the door to the outdoor balcony and suggested I sit outside. The balcony is THE place to be. There are several big L-shaped couches and tables where you can relax and enjoy the view of the lake. The TBB cocktail menu highlights their use of Tito's vodka, if that's your thing. I appreciated the extensive selection of whiskies (whiskeys?) - American, Irish, Bourbon, Scotch, etc. P.S. Don't tell anyone about the upstairs balcony...“

“The sushi was incredible! The pieces were smaller, which was a good thing as they were more approachable. I give credit to the size to them not having too much rice, like most places. They had just enough rice to surround them and keep them together. Unfortunately, the service was subpar. I blame the management more than the server, to be honest. There was only one server and one bartender. So it was a little frustrating to have everything take so long from start to finish. Over all, if you want good sushi with a very posh atmosphere, go here... you may just have to wait a while.“

“YES YES AND YES I really like the vibe of The exchange! It's dark, intimate, artsy... just love it. Comes w/ 2 levels. Upstairs is smaller and more lighting. Downstairs is more dark and private w/ more space for bigger parties. The cocktails are significant and signature. They make a mean cocktail but be specific or things can get outta hand in price or general preference. The staff is fun, professional and educated on what's good for the palate. Definitely try them out!“
