Typical bar atmosphere.Lord John's tacos were amazing! Not a standard taco by any means. The shell was a cornmeal bread similar in shape to pita, but with a slight crunch on the outside and a soft bread like texture on the inside.I had a chicken Lord Johns Taco. The chicken was cooked well and seasoned to taste. The veggies were cold and crisp.They have a hot sauce that pairs nicely with this type of taco. I grew up in the 70's eating the original Lord John's Tacos served from a mobile home type trailer building on Markland Ave. When I found out the defunct eateries tacos are available at The Handle Bar, I was ecstatic and drove to Kokomo to take a friend. The Handle Bar nails the original. I will be back.

I’m from Kokomo,I remember when these tacos were on the westside. I live in Indianapolis now and haven’t had these in over 20 years. Although it was satisfying to have the infamous tacos, the meat was season less, a bland like taste. The hot sauce helps pick up where the meat lacks…. Glad they stopped smoking in there too.
