I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. I would give this place a 10 out of 5 stars if I could. It is one of the last bastions of good, reasonably priced local food in Lafayette. The owners are so kind. They recognize us when we come in and are super accommodating.

You can really see the hardwork and dedication that went into this business. While they might be a little slower than a McDonald's, their quality is unmatched by anything in the area.

They are known for their Mangollada. It's delicious. The mango sorbet is homemade. The fruit is always ripe. One time, the owner felt that he didn't put enough sorbet in my cup so he gave me an entire extra scoop for free.

Our favorites to order are the Mangollada, Fresas con Crema with vanilla ice cream, Al Pastor Tacos, and Tostiesquites.

“Custard was outstanding. I had vanilla. The service people where nice to my wife who asked some questions about their products. It was drive-up and outside order only. The indoor portion was closed. Not many tables outside to sit at either.“

At first I thought she may have just been having a bad day, but everytime she serves me she has this constant attitude. “A Local Institution, McCord's provides a unique and eye catching experience in the Main Street scene. Loved by children and adults alike, there is something for everyone. Dairy Free or Gluten free items do exist around the store, but the chocolates are not DF. Dylan did an outstanding job helping me craft several styles of client gifts and they were able to fill a rather substantial order within a few days of submitting. Customer service here is usually great, but be ready to tip in cash, even though you can pay with card. When I want a sweet treat, the marshmallow chocolate Coke with light ice is THE way to go. If you haven't considered McCord's for stocking stuffers or client treats, you should! I did spy little boxes of Marzipan fruits too - what a great item to attach to gifted tickets to The Nutcracker or the book!“

“I was very disappointed when we went to Culver's a little before 9 pm, I check the website for closing time and it was 10 pm so we had time to go in for custard. we get there and they were already closed and this was a little past 9pm, that is not 10 pm, either someone doesn't know how to tell time or they don't want to work. we went to DQ they were open!“
