Came down here from South Bend to tour the Sanatorium and knew nothing of the hype of this place. I just googled 'food near me', and Mecca appeared in the search results. I am so glad we drove the little ways to try it!Words do not do justice for how good the food is. We had the breaded tenderloin, a burger, and the pretzel. The pretzel was the size of moped tire. Saw their pork tenderloin on a Facebook post and went there for dinner, it was a Sunday. Just an FYI; if you are a beef eater like me they only serve the 1lb Ribeye and Ribeye Sandwich on Friday and Saturday 4-9pm. My hubby got the pork tenderloin, the size and taste did not disappoint. I got the chicken tenders, French fries and onion rings, all 3 were awesome. We will be going this Friday for the ribeye. It was good. The place is a dump. I mean talk about a dive bar. I think they have stock in canned spray foam. It’s everywhere. The food is typically deep fried bar food. The tenderloin really is huge, which is why we went. It was good too. It’s worth a stop and see! The service was great! One woman working in there did not stop running - the place as super crowded and she was very pleasant.
