We used to get food from here all the time. Then they started getting everything wrong, so we took a break. Tonight we were reminded why we took a break. Ordered La Bandera and three side enchiladas- two cheese and one beef. Side of rice and beans. Was told 15 minutes. We got there 10 minutes later to find only two tables full in restaurant. Not busy. Got order and headed home. Found they didn't include the side beef enchilada and EVERYTHING was stone cold. Called and they told me to come back. kma. Everything should have been comped. Thank you for reminding us why we stopped going there in the first place. Your flavors are awesome, your accuracy and custumer service is horrible. Don't bother with el rancho Viejo. You'll be disappointed and ripped off and they won't care.
El rancho viejo is our favorite Mexican restaurant in a town full to the brim with outstanding Mexican restaurants. They have dishes like the Chili Colorado that few others include on thier menu. We ve tried many dishes and the molcajete dishes are awesome. The seafood is great! The margaritas are also always delicious and strong! The tables and atmosphere are gorgeous. I dont really like the geographic location of the Mishawaka location and miss having one closer in downtown South bend but I am grateful they are still around!

I found a hair in my food after only taking one bite. I gave the food back to get a new dish. The waiter was kind and took the meal off our bill however, even after waiting awhile for a new dish to come out, my food never came. I’m not sure if it was a language barrier or what happened, but the situation was very confusing.

El Rancho Viejo in Mishawaka was a big disappointment. The food was not good at all, and the quesadilla was especially bad—whatever was on top of it looked like some strange mix of liquid sour cream or cheap melted cheese, but either way it did not work.
For the price, it was overpriced too. I paid $27 and change for a bad quesadilla and a Coca-Cola, and that just felt like too much for what I got. It’s a shame because the restaurant has potential, but this visit was not it.

I’m all over the USA as a trucker. Came in at like 6:30 on a Friday night and sat at an empty bar. Dining room was half was full. I’m just hanging out waiting for my clock to reset. Place cleared out by 8:30. Food was good. I got the Luigi’s Burrito. I asked a waiter why they were so dead on a Friday night he mentioned the holiday. Easter is Sunday. Hmmm. I think they need some spring specials, some drink specials. Something to pack this place out. Food was great. Service was average.
