“Located in Homewood, Rabid Brewing is a must see for craft beer lovers. The spacious taproom features ample seating, making it an ideal spot for both small gatherings and larger groups.
Rabid Brewing offers a selection of beers that highlight creativity and quality. I sampled “Azazel,” which boasts a bold hop profile balanced with citrus and pine notes. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone who appreciates a robust IPA. The “Manticore” was equally impressive—smooth and rich, with layers of chocolate and roasted malt that lingered beautifully.
What sets Rabid apart is their commitment to experimentation. The seasonal offerings are a treat, with unique flavors that reflect local ingredients. Don’t miss the “Ecto Gnome” sour—tart and refreshing, it’s perfect to during the fall to take you back to the fleeting summer days of months past.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always eager to share insights about the brewing process and make recommendations.
In short, Rabid Brewing is a must-visit in Homewood. With excellent beers, a vibrant atmosphere, and a community-focused approach, it’s a spot you’ll want to return to again and again.“
“You cannot find better people or better beer than Mike and his crew at Foreign Local. Amazing beer, great food pop ups and guest chefs, and the friendliest staff and atmosphere anywhere, and they are dog friendly, just ask my dog Marley about her favorite bartender Chastity. Mike the owner walks his talk supporting the community too. Come out and support a small business that offers a superior product, staff, and atmosphere: Foreign Local in Hammond.“
“Went here for a quick dinner, the service is fast, food is good, and the vibe is great! It’s very nicely decorated! Also, we had Bethany as our server, and she is AWESOME! She took good care of us, and was super nice. Give that girl a raise!“
“Here now... great beer... AWEFUL music. Could be an issue.“
“When we went apple picking in NW Indiana near Chicago (Oct. '24), we discovered New Oberpfalz Brewing in Griffith, IN. What a great brewery+pub with outdoor and indoor seating to observe Oktoberfest! German cuisine on their menu was very typical of Gasthausen (guest houses) in Bavaria, The variety of their beers, lagers, and ciders created unexpected options to choose from to pair with the menu. The town of Griffith around the brewery has specialty shops to visit and there's a massive Serbian Orthodox Church on the edge of town with striking architecture. We plan to return to explore Griffith and tour New Oberpfalz' brewery.“

“I've been going to the bulldog pub for the past year with my husband. It's our go to date night, because of one really great worker there who always makes you feel special. Alexis is not only kind and funny but also so welcoming, you just can't help but to feel comfortable there as if you are with friends. And her work ethic is steller. She always check on you to ensure you have everything, making you feel like you're the most important table there. I give this place 5 stars because they have Alexis on staff there. Now on date night we make sure she is working.“

“I live in CO and i freaking love their beer. Every summer we make our annual roadtrip back to the midwest and I bring pack 20+ cases of beer back with me, specifically Gunmballhead. I just wish you guys would re-open the tap room again. It's been like 4 years since it last closed....what's the hold up? PS: Send your brews to CO :)“
