“Rudy and I celebrated our 40th anniversary there on 7/27. This was our first visit at the new location. Mickey was our Server and she is EXCELLENT at taking care of customers. We had a full menu with some leftovers for later. I splurged on a Blackberry Smash Mocktail. Interestingly different... We shared the Calamari appetizer. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and Rudy had Filet medallions! So much flavor!!! Portions for us gave leftovers. We didn't want to be miserable and wanted to save room for dessert - Creme Brulee (me) and Carrot Cake (Rudy). We even took some dessert home! It was a wonderful evening at a Hideout 125! For us, Hideout 125 is one of our special places for special events!“

“Stopped by at the beginning of the lunch hour and there were no other customers around. As I approached the building, I was quickly able to decide that I wanted a #4 thanks to the common meals advertised in the windows. It was wings and a catfish fillet. I was surprised that it came with 5 whole wings.

Nonetheless, went in, placed the order and watched to fod being freshly prepared through the clear glass. I waited outside for about 15 minutes and the food was hot and tasted fresh. I had to take off a star because the lobby area could use a little TLC. Thanks for the experience!“

“Ate lunch at this seafood restaurant during a trip through Fort Wayne. The restaurant was not crowded at all so there was plenty of parking andf we were seated right away during the visit. The menu is a bit cumbersome because they have items listed as lunch items which would indicate some sort of price or serving size difference but we were told the price and sizes were the same regardless of the meal.

We ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were good. We ordered two different seafood boils, fried alligator, and fried shrimp for our entrees. The boils were good and seasoned appropriately. The fried gator and shrimp were good but could have used more seasoning. The staff we encountered were friendly and explained the menu selections. Overall, it was a good visit and if I was in the area I would eatr at this place again.“

“This place rarely fails. The service was spectacular. The salad bar is famous itself, but the steaks did not disappoint. I ordered the coffee crusted Ribeye, and my wife ordered the filet. Both were full of flavor and very tender. My only critique was dessert. They brought out the creme brulee, and the top was perfect, but the bottom was warm and very runny. So runny that the area you just took a spoonful from filled back in. Great flavor but disappointing texture. We mentioned this to our waitres, and she apologized, but nothing else was done about it. My wife ordered a martini and loved it. I tried the ultimate margarita with Don Julio, but it was not good at all as even though i stirred it, it was all tequila and nothing else. Overall, it was still a good experience.“

“From the moment you step in until you walk out, everything is just an overall welcoming, luxury (without feeling obnoxious) experience. The decor is modern with a touch of upscale smokey 20's vibe. The black tie dress up look is felt throughout the establishment, but the casual dining experience is still welcoming without feeling underdressed. My husband and I were there for our 32nd wedding anniversary. We've been repeat guests, and we certainly don't see a reason to stop now. The food was very nice. Pete felt his could use a dash more salt on his prime rib. We both had different cuts of steak cooked med-rare. Both were cooked correctly. He found the lobster tail bland. My blackened shrimp was great. Meaty and delicious! Our shrimp cocktail and pita bread dipped in gouda cheese cream was by far a favorite appetizer and one that I saw many other guests had ordered. Complimentary pretzel bread and cinnamon butter were brought out with our meal, and that was amazing. I had lobster bisque as my soup. It was smooth and buttery. Pete enjoyed the house salad. Fresh and fulfilling, he says. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they gave us a complimentary dessert. We chose the carrot cake with cinnamon ice cream and candied walnuts with caramel sauce. It was heavenly. The unsweetened ice head was refreshing, and the sangria was delightful. Another wonderful experience.“

“The atmosphere was very pleasant and clean. It was a bit dark for lunch, just my opinion. The men's room was orderly and operational. The meal I had was ok. It was not exactly what I had ordered. The waitstaff was informed of the discrepancy, but at the end of the day, there was no discount from the bill or offer to remake the meal.
REVIEW UPDATE- The owner of the restaurant called me personally, and we had a fantastic conversation . Rob is truly passionate about his restaurant, and he took my feedback as an opportunity to reach out to a customer and truly make it right. My wife and I will definitely be going back, and I let the three stars stand for my calzone. However, SIX STARS FOR ROB.
UPDATE TWO - Rob sent us a gift certificate and told us to let his staff know when we came in to eat again, and he would stop by and chat with us. He stopped by and talked with us for about ten minutes just like he said he would. The moral of the story is he does what he says he will do, and he really cares about the people he serves. His sincerity is genuine, and it really shows through when you talk with him. We would all be even fatter and happier if there were more restaurant owners like him.“
