We have had bad experiences at other local seafood boil establishments, but both times that we have been to Royal Seafood House the whole experience has been great! We like in the covered dining outside, and we both love the seafood boils. The service has always been excellent; everyone is super friendly! “I'm a fan of every J & J I've visited. They have a favorite of mine my entire life. Smelt. Also picked up whole wings and catfish filets for later. Im a truck driver. So I grab a few orders for days ahead. The smelt didn't make it out of Mishawaka, however. Ate them while driving. Perfectly cooked, in my opinion, as usually the case with all orders I've picked up. Small place. But most people tend to call ahead or order to go.“

“We drove here because our friends recommended this restaurant, there is no dine in, so you must carry out. The restaurant itself is dingy, sort of a hole in the wall place, nothing fancy. They have several options of different fish, chicken, shrimp. There’s other foods like fried okra, French fries, onion rings etc. Food seems to be cooked to order, so expect to wait for your food, it’s being cooked fresh, 10-15 minutes depending on orders placed before you. The food was delicious and seasoned right. My only complaint is, my car smells like fish still to this day, and we went to this restaurant 3 weeks ago. I can’t understand why the fish lingers so long, but it did, made me think a fish was left in my car overnight. I’m just very curious why their fish does this, we didn’t eat in the car, we drove 35 minutes to the restaurant and back home.“

“My wife and I had dinner there to celebrate our 63rd anniversary. She had the steak and shrimp while I had the shrimp duo (grilled and fried shrimp). The only minor complaints were the croutons on the salad were very salty and the shrimp (all of them) were slightly overcooked. (Not unusual in the midwest) Although we told her not to, the manager took them off the bill. Our server, Lorenzo, was very attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a very good evening. The Chandon champagne splits were VERY reasonable.“

Apparently if you are not a regular, they will give your table to one of them even if you reserved months in advance. Hostess and Manager do not value out of owner business so go somewhere else. The only option I could choose was "slow service" but wait staff were better than management.“

“Googled recommended this place when we were looking for somewhere new to try... but I will say we were not disappointed! The service was prompt and friendly, with nice recommendations toward the menu. The food was great! I had AYCE fish (hake) and it was delicious! The breading was nice and light, so you could actually taste the fish. My hubs had fried chicken and he enjoyed that as well! The best part was the cheese and crackers they brought out with our soup... well definitely come back!“

“Absolutely amazing. It has been a long time since I've been able to find another restaurant that has authentic offerings aside from the standard American dishes. I ordered the garlic cabbage and 3-cup chicken. The chicken dish was new to me and it was fantastic -- full of flavor and the sauce is great over rice. Will definitely be back and am looking forward to trying more of the offerings.“

“A long day on the road in a truck sometimes leaves you stuck trying to find a good place to eat. Luckily I pulled in as they were closing, they saw my truck and opened the doors for me to order my food and offered to let me eat in, the customer service was above par for the modern restaurant, the food is fresh and fast. I'll definitely keep coming back to this location when I'm in the area, TY all for the service!

Kid-friendliness: Normally these chains are very family oriented, it may not seem like it, but I remember coming here often with my family!

“We went here last minute because the Wild crab on Ireland was only accepting cash. We are glad we discovered King Crab. They have the All you can eat menu and tgats what my husband and granddaughter ordered.
Granddaughter has all A's in her voluntary summer school college courses and she always picks a seafood boil for her reward. The husband and granddaughter both got the AYCE and they were very happy with their choice.
I am not big on seafood so i browsed the menu and was delighted to see they had egg fried rice. And it was delicious!
The service was excellent. The restaurant looked clean. Except for the womens bathroom. My husband said the mens was fine ... But his standards aren't as high as mine for a clean public restroom. lol
We will definitely be back. Unfortunately its pretty pricey, so we'll have to save our pennies for a few months.“

“Great $10 breakfast special especially for seniors. Just enough food and includes coffee. All the food there is very good and they have entertainment on weekends and special activities. Overlooks the pool area and has nice fire tables. Love this place“
