It's barely noticeable from the road and there doesn't appear to be (any) parking, but it's worth the quick stop to pull over and take the short 45-second hike down to see the "highest free standing rock formation east of the Mississippi." Was worth the detour.

COVID-19 and the Grand Opening of the Jug Rock Cafe collided like Captain Joseph Hazlewood and the rocks at Prince William Sound. But, unlike the 1300 miles of Alaskan shoreline, it looks like the Jug Rock Cafe escaped unscathed. Daily specials abound, but watch the hours as they open at 11 and close at 8 most of the time. It's good to have another place to eat in Shoals. If you don't patronize the small businesses you wont have any small businesses.
