About Ballard's in the Atrium

Ballard's in the Atrium offers a lively and scenic dining experience, focusing on creating a memorable atmosphere for guests. The burger remains a standout menu item, often described as "phenomenal," "juicy," and "flavorful," complemented by frizzled leeks. The restaurant’s spacious setting does not require reservations, and guests can enjoy complimentary Chex Mix while sipping on refreshing drinks like margaritas or the popular "TaxiCab."

Recent reviews highlight the exceptional service from Joel and the fantastic view of the dome, especially during the festive season. The French Onion soup received high praise for its variety of onions, while the spinach artichoke dip was noted for its satisfying heft and large bites of artichokes. Happy Hour is considered worthwhile with a good selection and above-standard fare. However, some menu items like the Lobster Roll and tuna salad plate did not meet expectations, with the latter described as barely standard for its price.

The atmosphere is a significant draw for Ballard’s, enhanced by live music that creates a peaceful vibe. Despite mixed reviews on some food items and service disappointments, Ballard’s remains a spot worth visiting for its unique ambiance and variety of activities for kids, making it a place for both dining and resort enjoyment.

Ballard's in the atrium of the West Baden Hotel is one of my favorite places to dine. The ambiance of the magnificent dome towering over, the grandeur of the six story columns, the gold leaf, the vintage Rolls Royce parked across the room, piano music drifting in from across the way, the playful Sprudel and maiden watching from the Rookwood tiles of the giant fireplace...takes you back to an earlier day. On top of that, the food is excellent, the bar is well stocked, the staff...read full review
