Soonsoo Kitchen Reviews
My new favorite restaurant in town. Great authentic food ordered at a kiosk, no tip asked. Sake and beer options at the counter. Nice selection of starters, with miso soup - all included. Self serve. Cool laidback atmosphere with Korean pop playing in the background. Private rooms at the back. Wasn’t busy at all on a Tuesday evening. The spicy squid is best in town.
A taste of Korea right here in West Lafayette! Amazing spot for coffee, lunch, or dinner. Now that I’ve been multiple times I can say the food is fantastic, and the self-serve aspect is convenient. It’s so efficient to order on their kiosk, find a table and gather your own water, banchan, and silverware. Everything you need is very accessible. If you do need help, the employees are very polite and quick to help.

This place is great for three reasons: amazing food, elegant decor, and super friendly staff. A must-visit if you want to try Korean food!

Soonsoo Kitchen is a new Korean restaurant in West Lafayette offering a taste of Korea. The food is authentic and delicious, with an extensive menu that includes appetizers, small plates, soups, hot pots to share, noodles, and more. Specific dishes mentioned include the spicy squid, ox bone soup, spicy brisket noodle soup, kimchi hotpot (serves 2), kimbap, kimchi pancake, seafood champong (noodle soup), jajangmyeon, bibimbap, and soft tofu beef stew. Starters come with miso soup, all included. The restaurant is self-serve: order at a kiosk, find a table, and gather your own water, banchan, and silverware. No tip is asked. Employees are polite and quick to help. Sake and beer options are available at the counter. The atmosphere is cool and laidback, with Korean pop playing in the background. During the day it is great for coffee or lunch, and at dinner the lights turn low with table-side lighting. There are private rooms at the back that can be reserved with table service. It was not busy on a Tuesday evening. Prices are reasonable, and portions are big. Highly recommended, especially for people new to Korean food.
