I live on the south side of Indy, but found myself in Zionsville for a meeting—and I’m so glad I stumbled into Roasted in the Village. With so many coffee shop options nearby, this gem stood out in the best way.

From the moment I walked in, the energy was amazing. The staff was not only incredibly kind, but genuinely curious about what brought me in. The conversation felt natural and welcoming—not forced—which made the whole experience feel personal and sincere.

I set up shop for a few hours to get some work done, and the vibe was perfect: cozy, calm, and full of community. It was a joy watching the regulars filter in alongside first-timers, and the baristas treated everyone with the same friendly enthusiasm and big smiles.

I had a simple drip coffee, but their menu was packed with great options—including some really creative seasonal drinks. Whether you’re local or just passing through, this place is 100% worth the stop. I’ll absolutely be back—maybe even without a meeting to bring me to this side of town!“

“The best cakes, like seriously, the BEST. Both locations are wonderful and have the kindest staff but tonight I happened to go to the Zionsville one. I promised my kiddos cake and almost had to go home empty handed due to timing but the staff made sure that didn’t happen, thank you so much! You guys made our night. “Looked online to find an authentic French baguette. Sent my husband on a 20 minute drive to buy a loaf. The lady on the phone said that their baker had learned to make the baguettes in France so they were indeed authentic. Husband returned with a $5.00 loaf and when I cut into the very small loaf, it looked like a whole grain piece of bread fom Kroger or Fresh Market. It did not taste like a French loaf nor did it have the texture of a French baguette. So disappointed in the whole experience and will definitely not return for bread!“

We had the pleasure of enjoying it yesterday at the Indy St. Patty’s Parade & Tent Party. The line moved quickly, and AJ greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome. Our food came out hot and fast. I had the Korean beef corndog, while my friends had the Korean banger corndog—both were an easy 10/10!

“I purchased cakes from classic cakes for many many many years when my children were smaller and then into adulthood for birthdays, graduations, and other events. The cakes were always delicious and beautiful however, there is one designer that does not listen to what you ask for. When you tell her, the team colors are red, she made the cake green. When I told her I needed a sculpture of a specific dog and even sent a picture she made it anything but that dog. I realize that a certain amount of artistic license goes into this, but there were at least 10 times when the cakes were not what was ordered, and I didn’t say anything because I needed to pick them up and take them to the event the day that I picked them up and what do you do when the cake is wrong and you need it that day? Everybody said the cakes tasted good so we were fine, but it is disappointing to not get what you ordered.“

The pan francés, which I've had on multiple occasions, consistently tastes old and lacks the freshness you'd expect from a bakery. It's quite disappointing to see no improvement in this aspect.Moreover, I noticed that the staff making the bread do not use gloves or hats to cover their hair. This lack of basic hygiene practices is concerning and definitely something that needs to be addressed. A bakery should prioritize cleanliness and food safety, and El Globo Bakery falls short in this regard.To make matters worse, the cashiers were quite rude during my visit. Friendly customer service is crucial for a pleasant experience, and the attitude of the staff left much to be desired.Overall, while the bakery has potential, these issues with freshness, hygiene, and customer service significantly detract from the overall experience. I hope they make the necessary changes to improve.“

“My husband stopped in and was greeted like an old time friend. The staff was inviting, friendly, and warm and gave recommendations and advice when my husband didn’t know what to order. What they didn’t know was that the night before, we were rushed to Peyton Manning children’s hospital for our daughter to have emergency surgery and our spirits were low and we were hanging on by a thread mentally for the past two days sick with worry for our daughter. Without knowing, they lifted his spirits and mood for the first time in days just by being so welcoming and friendly. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. The two of us had the following: PEAR, BEETROOT, WALNUT, POCKET & ROQUEFORT SALAD, and the MUSHROOM MILLE-FEUILLE for appetizers, White Fish Poached in a Court Bouillon robed in a classic beurre blanc sauce with broccolini and rice pilaf and COQ AU VIN for our entrées. I am not a big meat eater but found the chicken in the COQ AU VIN to be tender and moist. It fell off the bone and became quite tasty with the sauce. The chef's choice of desserts was a a highlight! Delicious - appealing to the eyes and the palate! We appreciated being seated with plenty of space between us and other diners. We also appreciate how it felt like a relaxing dinner without us ever feeling rushed. We received attentive service and found everyone to be so personable. I had forgotten that I had mentioned in the notes of my reservation I have dairy and gluten sensitivities.After I placed my order, someone came out to make sure that I would be OK with my order due to the sensitivities I had listed. I was impressed by their attention to detail. Later, I asked if they had decaf coffee and any nondairy milks to use in place of creamer. I knew that was unlikely. I was delighted when I was later informed that they could make decaf coffee and would bring oat milk as well! That was a pleasant surprise!“
