“Road tripped to the chicken capital visiting area of youth fishing trips to strip pits. Love history of food places and Pichler's Chicken Annies has that in the chicken family lore of KS. Chicken was good, I like more spice in my skin, wife loved it. Enjoyed the sides of german potato salad cold, green beans were amazing explosion of bacon flavor- highly recommend. Mushroom appetizer was good choice. Nice touch of sliced bread basket and vegetable oil spread - where's some real butter??“

“We've been eating at Mary's for years and it has been amazing. There was a decline in food quality about a year ago for a couple months but everything is back to like it always has been. Great onion rings, the chicken is amazing, I love the German slaw and the livers and gizzard are the best. Thank you for the consistently great food through the years.“

“Went through the drive thru, and not only was our order incorrect, but it was incomplete as well. After having to turn around and drive back, our order was corrected and made again fresh, and we were given a free dessert to correct the issue. The meal correction would have been plenty, but it was a nice appeasement that they threw in a cake.“

“I used to eat at Gebhardts all the time when I was a child. I hadn't eaten there in years and we decided to try them. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it. It is fixed fresh, so don't expect to get it fast. The fresh food is worth waiting for.“

“On our way to Kansas City and stopped here because of the reviews. Service was great, very country home feel. Wonderful staff and patrons. We had the onion rings and fried mushrooms for appetizer. The onions rings are perfectly battered and delicious. Main course of fried chicken and chicken fried steak. The fried chicken was very crispy and tasty. German coleslaw was excellent but the German potato salad was not. Mashed potatoes and gravy is thick and creamy. It is in the middle of nowhere but overall good home cooked food.“

“You simply must go to experience the ambience of a bygone era. There are just so many decorative chickens to look at. I also loved the retro video games, and the glass telegraph insulators. I ordered the mozzarella sticks. They were bad. I tasted my friend's fries; fantastic. One of my dining companions reports that the fried chicken was fabulous. The other said the best thing on her plate was the German cole slaw. Service was great. The women's restroom was unpleasant. I was really bummed that they had run out dessert. It was the only thing I wanted.“
