“After a long day of girls wrestling tournament in Council Grove. We needed to feed our wrestler. This restaurant was perfect! The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming!!! The waitresses were amazing, almost like someone you’ve known forever! The food!!!! Omg the food! Appetizers are so yummy! And if you like spicy , try the fried jalapenos!!! And main dishes are beyond yummy!! Again, if you like a little spice, try the nitro burger. Delicious and spicy! The portions are generous too! The chicken fried steak was large!!! And so yummy after a day of cheering for our wrestlers!! And if you are like me, I can’t eat reheated meats. But my chicken fried steak was still very yummy reheated!!! My husband was beyond shocked! Lol! Our daughter also brought home a slice of pie and she wished she had gotten more. Thank you guys for having such amazing staff and food and for making us feel like we were home, even though we were two hours away from home. We will be coming back!”
“Absolutely fantastic. The restaurant decor and the music played is perfect. The food is incredible and the service is great. We were there on a Thursday and went back the next day because we loved it so much!! We had the burger, chicken sandwich, Kansas City strip, fish and chips, truffle fries and the bee sting over the 2 visits. Oh and the crème brûlée was ahhhhhmazing!!”
“Great, fast service. Nicely decorated. Food was okay, if I went back I would like to try something different to give it a second shot.Parking: Parking is on dirt, so was very muddy when I got out of my car because it was raining.”
“What a wonderful little diner filled with a line of regular customers on Friday noon! The burgers are big. The onion rings are crispy. The iced tea is fresh and refills on on the house. Then you leave with a small dish of ice cream or a cone.Parking: Parking is limited, but street parking is available within a short walk.Wheelchair accessibility: Two steps up gets you in the door and the seating does not allow much of a walkway. But J's is called "Carry Out" for a reason. They do a bustling business from the drive through, and you still get your complimentary ice cream! You don't need to get out of your vehicle to enjoy J's.”
“I really like everything about Gravel City Roasters. Joe and Clara are from my home town of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I couldn’t believe it! I am so happy for their purchase of the coffee shop. The coffee is good and the people are caring!”
“Food was great, had Hawaiian Cheesesteak - chicken, pineapple, onion & teriyaki sauce.Great menu, was tough to choose what to eat. Wish I wasn't 2.5 hours away as it would be a regular stop for me - will definitely hit next time I'm in ”
“Very friendly staff. Amazing food. Would definitely recommend!!Parking: Parking is available in the same lot as the food truck, as well as a little bit on the street in front of the food truck.”
“Plenty of Mexican restaurants in Emporia but this one uses various sauces that are unique to this area including interesting herbs and spices. Though they look pretty much alike there are subtle differences. We enjoyed our meal and will be back.”
“Always a great atmosphere, have tried 10+ different drinks and they are always good. Lemon poppyseed muffins are great and the baristas amd owner are always friendly and really get to know their regulars.”
“I first visited their truck and was impressed. The food is delicious and I've turned into a regular visitor. Fast, friendly service and affordable. Highest praise.”
“Amazing food! Friendly staff. A simple atmosphere. I have never been disappointed while eating here! Every time I'm in Emporia I make a special trip. Try the super burrito! But everything I have tried has been good so far.”
“Hey! This place is great! Remember that food truck attached to the space on the north side of commercial? They have a home, now. This was the freshest, most will presented Mexican food I've had in town. The restaurant was small and clean. They take pride in the food and it shows. You should definitely give this place a shot. Michoacan. Only complaint - they gotta water the salsa for the native Kansans. Oh Midwest! Get some heat! Spicy is good!!!”
“I believe my previous comment was a mistake, I had misunderstood the situation. I was given great service when I first walked in. The food was fresh and my future attitude will be better!”
“I've lived in Emporia my entire life minus a few weeks. I'm almost ashamed to admit that 1-7-2023 is my first visit to Mulreadys. They've got a CRAPLOAD of beers on tap. A little bit of everything. I was exceedingly happy with their selection!!! Not counting all my Untappd entries I did while I was there. Very friendly very nice place. To bad they don't serve food "yet!!" I highly recommend a visit!!”
“This is a good place for breakfast in Emporia KS. Not many places in town to choose from. Alot of food for the price. Very crowded as they're only open till 2pm.Closed ( Mon and Tues ).Pancakes ? are size of your plate. Thx ? Enjoy”
“Very good fried chicken! Crispy crust and moist inside without being under done. Mashed potatoes were good for a buffet. The pepperoni pizza had the perfect crisp to the mini pepperoni slices. The crusts for all varieties of pizza was acceptable. Sauce was well portioned and had a good amount of flavor.”
“Typical diner. My food (biscuits and gravy) had good flavor but it wasn’t hot. If you want 1/2 and 1/2 for your coffee bring your own. They use powdered creamer. I o my went because I was visiting a friend and she recommended we go. I would t go again for the breakfast, at ”
“This a great place for sandwiches and pasta. The soups are hot and delicious. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained. 64 choices on the pop machine too. Easy access off of 1-35 whether going North to KC or South to OKC. It's worth the stop.”
“I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone. It is an absolutely phenomenal little bar and grill and it is very family friendly! The staff are excellent and welcoming, the pulled pork tacos (my personal favorite) are insanely delicious, and the adult drinks are definitely not watered down. Some of it's features include an enclosed semi covered outside dining area with big screen t.v's with bench and table seats as well as high top tables with stools. Inside it has booths and tables with stools and a bar with high back stools as well as more t.v's. I would like to point out though that despite it accomodations it's not an obnoxious sports bar type setting, as the atmosphere is very laid back and inviting. Do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't be disappointed!”
“Really cool place. I would give it 5 star but owner doesn't allow any cats cause he's afraid that he dont have insurance just in case if something is going to happen to an animal. Well, its ok. I wish he can change his mind cause my cat is a service animal. But definitely gonna come back whenever i am going to visit my friend in Emporia KS.”
“Ate dinner last night, bright and shiny and clean inside. Great service, attentive staff, delicious food especially guacamole. My only recommendation is when you offer tacos, explain to people that these are street tacos to clarify, they are pretty small. Will be glad to go back again, thanks!”
“The Steak Quesadilla was great the tomato wedges & lettuce was a nice touch, I just wish I had a tomato for every bite! Their green chili (sauce) was the most authentic I've had while dining out. The place only seats 2-4 tables so I'd suggest getting a Togo order if you show up at lunchtime. Very friendly to my construction crew and I also very patient!”
“Super yummy food made by curtis, cheyenne our waitress is always on top of it and i love when she's our server, gm Denise always stops at our table and chats or makes sure we are okay as well. Good staff good food keep goin!”
“Excellent food, just stopped by with my brother on a road trip. The owners are nice people and the restaurant was very clean. Will definitely return whenever I come back.”
“A must try! Food from a food truck served in a small dining room from a counter-service style concept.... With absolutely amazing flavors and twists on old standbys.”
“Was upstairs for a party for a good friend and everything went great! The ladies behind the bar often came out to check and make sure everyone had what they needed. I went downstairs and saw a friend I hadn’t seen in years and one of the ladies came all the way down and served us a shot of tequila each (which we do every time we see each other in 5 or so years haha) . Really appreciated how well they took care of everyone. Thanks again!”
“Food was excellent, service was above and beyond, but beer was just ok. If you are a craft beer lover it is worth a try, plus you won't be disappointed by the food.”
“I freaking love this place! Especially now y'all got all that pinball! I've only had one bad experience down there and that was just because of one j*** otherwise the staff is awesome and it's always fun to come in play some games and chit chat.I threw at least $10 into those pinball machines and me and my friends had a blast! Always tip your bartender because they're working hard so we can have fun.Maybe I'll make it down there for St Patty's... seriously one of the best places in town and that's why we call it Royal!”
“This was a great stop on the first night of vacation. Space has a very hip vibe. Great drinks, amazing food, and excellent service. If you are in the area I highly recommend a visit.”

“This is a local bar where everyone knows your name (well, except me as I was a first timer). People couldn't have been friendlier. The beers were huge and cold. All for a reasonable price. The only downside would have been that the margarita mix was way too commercial and sour. They were a full bar, and they were having a taco bar the night I was there. The most positive anyone can say about a place is that I will be going back... and I will.?”
