Best tamales in Emporia. They were especially delicious tonight!
so took my parents out to eat but they wanted Mexican so we wanted to try a new place. I am happy to say we found this amazing place and a family-owned business that has the most amazing tamales! it's been a good share of my life growing up having to help friends make tamales and enchiladas for Fiesta Mexicana and Topeka so I've had a lot of tamales. however, these are just amazing and my parents couldn't say enough. needless to say they and I each took home a dozen hot tamales....read full review

Tamales Monarca offers amazing tamales that many customers describe as incredible and absolutely amazing. The menu includes jalapeno cheese, green chicken chili, red pork with yellow masa, pollo verde, chili verde pollo, and red chili pork. All tamales are very good, very reasonable, and bigger than what is found at corporate Mexican places. Friendly service is super friendly and very quick, with a friendly talkative young man who helps with conversation. Seating is available and owners are very nice. Customers often call ahead for orders by the Dozen and appreciate the cash or cash app payment method. The place is family‑owned and family‑owned business that many recommend highly. Visitors from Texas to Minneapolis, from Olathe, Kansas City, and Emporia travel an hour or more for the food. The green and red salsa accompany the tamales. The experience is highly recommend and guarantee customers won’t be disappointed.
