Amazing! American Legion Post 5 is so lucky to have so many volunteers helping with all their events. Bingo is open to everyone on Thursday nights. Also, the Saturday breakfast is open to everyone and is amazing. It's the 2nd Saturday of every month, $7 suggested donation for adults, food is cooked right there and it is like a breakfast bonanza with eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes (with all the fixings), homemade cinnamon rolls and muffins, along with...read full review
A great time for a Class Reunion for the 1969 ROOSEVELT and EHS High school graduates of Emporia Kansas, to celebrate their 75th birthdays!
My uncles Dan McClenny, Frank White, Con White, and my dad Mike McGuire were WWII and Korea veterans, all from Emporia and I believe all were members of Emporia Post #5. I remember that they often retreated to the Post in the evening during family holiday visits to meet with old friends and catch up about life. Never to talk about war times, but life since then.
