Every time we are in Independence, we visit Daylight Donuts daily for our breakfast!!! That breakfast very seldom consists of donuts, but ALWAYS includes Cajun Pies. These hand held pockets of goodness are just that. They use the softest dough & add the perfect amount of melty cheese, chopped ham & jalapeños. Fantastic. I love this place. Very, very good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is another review on here that gives the place only four stars because there is a wait since they are always busy. That's true, but it shouldn't knock off a star. Those people are hustling and bustling, and the fact that they are always busy is telling of how good the place is more than anything else.

Daylight Donuts has been around since I was young. I've got MANY fond memories of my Mom taking my sister & I there before school which I cherish They have moved since then ironically very close to where I live. They are a busy place but there's never a very long wait. They are ALWAYS friendly. :) There's a choice of going in and lots of people do just to visit with each other daily which I think is really cool.
