Best New York style pizza in Lawrence

I came in with a group of 12 teenagers and ordered 3 large pizzas. The staff was amazing and the pizzas were ready almost as soon as we got there and our drinks were filled quickly once they got low. Amazing food and service!

Very tasty pizza - I see that as a regular future visits.

Ate here Thursday night & the food made me sick. Literally one of the greasiest, nasty tasting pepperoni pizzas I've ever eaten.

BBQ Chicken pizza was amazing. Super crisp crust and served piping hot. The Sticks and Stones appetizer with mozzarella was really good. Great friendly service too to top it all off.

New Yorker here. Really good pie. For all you from NYC a little thin on the crust maybe a little crisper. But for Being in Kansas. I was happy. Good oven flavor on the bottom. Calzone was good. One thing kept them from a 5.
No Yankees stuff on the wall. Ill be back. Best in area. And I've tried em.

I was somewhat disappointed by the changes to this restaurant, when it opened up after the pandemic. In particular, it seemed to have fallen behind the times. For example, they had a large list of beers but no non-alcoholic beers. Just about every other bar and restaurant in Lawrence now has non-alcoholic beer. Even Germany, often viewed to be the beer capital of the world, now is expanding its offerings of non-alcoholic beers.

I was very happy to find today that they now have two NA beers, including the excellent NA Boulevard Spacecamper. In short, Morningstar's is back!
